The Theater Institute named after Boris Shchukin started its activity from 1913, when it was called Vakhtangovskaya school. And its almost modern name of the institution was in 1945. Then it was called the Higher Theater School. B. Shchukin. The status of the institution was given to the institution only in 2002.

During the rector of the People's Artist, the school managed to reach the international level. Teachers and their students began to travel to other states with their performances. Learning process

The Shchukin Theater Institute conducts a basic higher education in the direction of bachelor's degree. Students are given the opportunity to identify with one of the seven existing departments of the institution.
