The standing of Zoe Karnaukhova. Stone Zoya - true or myth?

In our everyday reality, miracles sometimes happen, and some of them become known to the whole world. So, in the last century, a big event took place in Kuibyshev. In the people he was given the name "Zoyo Stoyanie". Let's try to understand now and answer the question that worries many: this is just a beautiful and at the same time a terrible legend, about which you are still remembering, or the real fact that took place to be? The topic of our article: "Is Stone Zoe True or Myth?"

How it all began?

By historical standards, this wonderful event happened not so long ago. It was in the middle of the last century in Kuibyshev, now this city is called Samara.

In 1956, an unexplained phenomenon occurred in one of the houses, namely along Chkalovskaya Street, house No. 84, in January. A crowd of gapers gathered around the dwelling, who wanted to see this sign. The news quickly spread among the people: the girl for some reason turned into a kind of statue. Like a statue, she froze in the middle of the room, but was alive. Everyone was eager to see this from the corner of his eye, and a detachment of mounted police was on duty to curb the riots during the week.

Disagreements in this story from the very beginning already a lot. So, according to one version, there was a simple family in the house: the mother and her daughter Zoya. That evening, her faithful parent went to church, and her daughter arranged a party for which she was waiting for her fiancé named Nikolai. When the mother returned home, she saw her daughter in a petrified state and fainted. At first she was taken to the hospital, and after the woman regained consciousness, she returned home and began to pray earnestly.

According to another version, there lived Claudia Bolonkina and her son Nikolai. It was he who was Zoya's boyfriend and invited her to visit. She was still waiting for him that evening, but he never came. Then the story went according to the same scenario.

The investigation of journalists

Despite the past decades, talk about this event does not cease. In the course of the journalistic investigation, it was concluded that there was no miracle. But what really happened at that time? The fact that near the house in those January days a huge crowd gathered, attracted by swiftly spreading rumors, was never denied by anybody. But then did the place have a real miracle?

The cause of this congestion, according to experts, was the so-called mass psychosis, fueled by certain social conditions that were then in the country. At that time, power changed, the cult of Stalin was a thing of the past, and the powerful of this world made allowances for the church and believers.

This incident was even mentioned at a party conference held in the city in late January. There was a transcript, in which were the statements of the secretary of the regional committee of the CPSU. In it, he denied the reality of what happened.

One old woman said that in the house the woman was petrified, who thus was punished for blasphemy. Rumors began to spread quickly. In addition, the police, attached at that time to maintain order, even more attracted the attention of the people, causing excitement. When the law enforcement agencies left, a crowd of onlookers scattered with them, seeking to look at the "miracle." According to eyewitnesses, there was only an old woman living in that house, and there could be no question of any girl.

Based on the investigation conducted, it turns out that this was an invention of the very same Bolonkina, who launched false information. The documentary film "Stone Zoe" tried to shed some light on the reliability of the facts.

Disproving article in the newspaper

After this event, in one edition a feuilleton was published under the title "Wild Case". He denounced the propaganda workers of the city committee, who forgot about their duties to educate the population and introduce scientific knowledge into the minds of people. And about miracles and religion in this newspaper was written as a remnant of the past.

Witnesses and rumors

After three decades, witnesses began to appear, but they did not have a direct relationship to what had happened. They were the ones who just heard a lot about it from other people, but did not see anything with their own eyes. The legend, therefore, began to grow larger with rumors and speculation. According to some, it no longer had anything to do with real events.

Fiction can include the information that pointed to the doctors of the ambulance, who allegedly came to Zoya, tried with the help of injections to revive it and rid it of this condition. There is also a story about policemen who saw a frozen girl and suddenly grew gray with this spectacle. They spoke of a certain holy elder who then came to the city and communicated with the petrified girl. There is no reliable information about this information, and, according to some, they are all built entirely on gossip. But is it really so? At the same time, the name Zoya did not appear immediately, but several decades later, the girl was named Karnaukhova.

Films based on the legend

In 2015, we shot a documentary, shown on the TVC channel, "The Line of Defense. Stone Zoe. " Also on the basis of these events in 2009, the director Alexander Proshkin removed the picture "Miracle". Only the action of this film takes place in Grechansk - a fictional city. In this picture, personalities were involved, who in fact were not present at that time. So, here appeared Nikita Khrushchev, who at that time was the leader of the country.

In the film "Miracle", based on the script by Yuri Arabov, who showed interest in Orthodox themes, such famous actors as Konstantin Khabensky, Polina Kutepova and Sergei Makovetsky were shot. Many viewers who have seen this picture perceive it as documentary, but in reality only the legend is based, which has not yet been confirmed and is overgrown with many fictitious circumstances.

In addition, on NTV was shown in 2011 a historical detective called "The case is dark. Stone Zoe: the truth or the myth? "

Perpetuation of history

In 2010, at the behest of the head of the city, a decision was made to establish a memorial sign in honor of the legendary Kamen Zoey. It is on that very famous street. The sculptural image of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker is a kind of reminder of a long-past event, but the image of Zoe herself is not present here. However, her name is mentioned on the plate, which is on this monument. In the temple, located on the outskirts of Samara, people pray for a miracle in front of the icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. On the edges are miniatures that capture the footage associated with that long-standing event.

This was mentioned in the film "The Line of Defense. Stone Zoe. " In those days, people needed a miracle, because the old order collapsed, and something new had to come to replace it. Religion began to revive, it became necessary confirmation of its strength. What happened struck many people, and they quickly turned to faith. At that time, even the crosses were not enough for begging.

About what this legend says

A certain girl named Zoya, who is also a worker in a pipe factory, was walking with her friends at home. They danced and had fun. Although the Christmas post did not do this. Against this idea was the mother of our heroine. The girl had a fiance Nicholas, but he for some reason lingered, and she kept waiting for him. Unable to withstand, in an outburst of anger, Zoya grabbed the icon of Nicholas the Wonder-worker and began to dance with her. The girl said the following words: "If there is not my Nicholas, then I will dance with Saint Nicholas." Then the girlfriends present at the party began to persuade her not to do it, because this is blasphemy. But in response to them, she only said: "If there is a God, let him punish me!"

After this happened something inexplicable. A vortex rose in the room, lightning flashed, a terrible noise rose, and ... Zoya froze at the same instant, like a statue. She was all icy and pressed the icon to her chest. Her legs seemed to mesh with the floor, and the girl could not be moved. Despite the absence of external signs of life, her heart was beating. Since then, I have not eaten or drunk, but Stone Zoya continued to live.

The film about this event was repeatedly staged by the directors, but these pictures did not give an exact explanation. They tell how people on duty at the post heard a girl screaming at night: "Mom, pray! In sins we perish! "The news of this spread throughout the city, and the phenomenon was called" Zoyo Stoyanie. " They invited priests to read prayers. But the holy men could not take the icon from Zoya's hands. On Christmas Day, Father Seraphim came to the house and said: "We must wait for a sign on the Great Day."

There is even a legend that Nicholas the Wonderworker himself was Zoya. On the day of the Annunciation came an old man, already the third time trying to get into the house. The attendants only heard that the old man had asked Zoe if she was tired enough to stand like this. Then he lost track of himself, he disappeared unnoticed. Then there were rumors that the saint himself was then in that room.

So the girl stood for 128 days, until Easter. On the eve of the feast, she again appealed to people praying, for the whole world perishes in sins. From that time, Zoya began to revive and continued to ask everyone to pray for peace. After she woke up, she was asked questions and asked how she survived for so many days. After all, she could not drink or eat at a time when she was in a petrified state. To this she replied that she was fed pigeons. The night guards were horrified when Zoe screamed that everyone should pray, as the earth burns, and the whole world perishes in sins. As the legend says, on the third day of Easter the girl died, forgiven by the Lord.

There is a version that after Zoya came to life, she was taken to the hospital, where she stayed for the rest of the day. There is also the assumption that she lived later in the monastery. After a while, Stone Zoya still lives in the memory of the people. Samara is now associated with many with the long-standing event and the image of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.

Testimony of eyewitnesses

After this event, the very priest Seraphim was asked about his meeting with that phenomenon. He responded evasively to them, but it became clear that he was then able to take the icon from the girl, who was the stone Zoya in Samara.

But there is also the testimony of a witness - pensioner Anna Fedotovna. She, like many then, wanted to see the miracle with her own eyes, but the militia guarding the house did not miss anyone. Then the old woman decided to ask one of the boys if it was really so, as they say. But he answered evasively, saying that they were not told to report anything. The more expressive words were his gray hair, which he demonstrated to the woman.

There was also a witness who worked for the ambulance. Then she came to the house to help the girl. Trying to give her an injection, she realized that it was all useless, because the needles bent and broke against the hardened skin. This woman was called Anna Pavlovna Kalashnikova, and she was a relative of the priest Vitaly Kalashnikov, who told her about this story. She, like many then eyewitnesses, gave a receipt for non-disclosure. Despite this, the woman told about a miracle to many people.

Once from Kuibyshev, a believer came to that temple where Seraphim served. She saw him and immediately recognized in him the priest who was present at that event. In most cases, he answered evasively and did not give direct answers to questions about Zoya's standing. From the narrative of Alexandra Ivanovna it follows that she met with the priest Seraphim and asked about the whereabouts of the icon, which was then in the hands of the girl. To this he only looked at her sternly and said nothing. But there is information that the icon is in the Rakitnensky temple. Mother Ekaterina Luchina talked about this, but then it was kept secret, because everyone feared the re-arrest of Seraphim.

Uncle Svetlana Chekulaeva was then a participant in the feast. He told his family about the incident, and since then this story has become their family legend. As his niece tells, he saw that the girl froze, stopped talking and stood, embracing the icon. Her uncle, like those who were with him at that time, were sentenced to different terms. These facts were quoted in the documentary film "Stone Zoya" (TVC).

The arrest of the main witness

On the father of Dimitri (Seraphim), then they fabricated the case, and the authorities ordered not to divulge the miracle to everyone who saw it. The priest was sentenced to several years of imprisonment. After serving his term, he was sent to serve in a remote village. In the Intercession Monastery, after many years, Archimandrite Seraphim told that after he took the icon, he was arrested for several years, but the Lord brought him out in 40 days.

Thus, in Samara, the past events are now immortalized, in which Father Seraphim and that same stone Zoya figured. The photo of the monument in Samara visually demonstrates this to us.

Scientific version

From this point of view, this petrification is explained by a catatonic stupor. It is with him that there is a state where a person can not move, talk and make any moves. There was a confirmation of one scientist who did not refute the thing that had happened to the girl, but explained it with tetanus. However, with this disease, symptoms can not be expressed so much. The patient can be moved from place to place, in the same case it was impossible to do this.

Conclusion

Like this, and every sensational story often has many versions and disagreements. This is especially true of miracles, which are becoming known to the whole world. In this case, as a rule, a version is born that confirms the phenomenon in every possible way, and there is in contrast to it the explanation of skeptics who are considering the incident from the scientific point of view, and even completely refuting it.

On the one hand, many refutations were made about the plausibility of history. At the same time, there are witnesses who allegedly indicate that they were at that time in the house on Chkalovskaya Street and did not see anything. But, on the other hand, why did the authorities at that time need to organize a cordon and zakolachivat windows? Why did they arrest Archimandrite Seraphim, as they did with other witnesses of the miracle? Yes, it can be explained by the fact that they thus fought against religion and provocations, but perhaps behind this lies the fact of a miraculous event that took place to be in reality.

Be that as it may, the standing of the stone Zoe, whether it was a compromised or a real miracle, at one time turned many people into faith, gave strength and hope in that difficult time. It was at that time that the people were in desperate need of a miracle, and it, one way or another, happened.
