The native of Brazil in our apartment is bougainvillea. Caring for her

Bougainvillea is a native of Brazil. This plant may look like a liana or a shrub with widely sprouted branches, in some cases may look more like a miniature tree. Around the small, rather plain, flowers, which have a yellowish-white color, there are three fairly long bracts. They can be of different colors and shapes. Many people bracts mistakenly consider the flowers of the plant and admire their "flowering".

Bougainvillea at home is pliant enough to prune. Since it has a flexible trunk, this plant is very easy to shape with a pruner. You can grow a liana or a bonsai tree in your house.

Bougainvillea. Care

Plant this plant mainly in large tubs or directly into the ground. It is very convenient if growing bougainvillea is planned in a winter garden or a greenhouse. Very beautiful look trees of different varieties, planted in one container or grafted on one trunk.

Temperature and lighting

Preferably, when growing a plant, choose a warm sunny place. During the flowering period, the temperature should be above 22 degrees Celsius. In winter, the temperature is usually lowered to +10, +12 degrees. Lowering the temperature in the future will have a good effect on the flowering of the plant. If the winter does not provide coolness, then it does not matter whether bougainville will grow. Care in this case will become problematic, since the plant will not pass into the rest period. As a result, bougainville will become tired, she will not have the strength to blossom.

Watering

Pour should be moderate, so that there is no excessive moisture or, conversely, dryness. If water remains in the pan, then it must be poured. In winter, water is seldom, especially if the air temperature is lowered to +10 ... + 12 degrees. High humidity is preferred by bougainvillea. Care at home will consist in the fact that when spraying the plant the water does not fall on the bracts. In winter (in the dormant period) it is permissible that a light shower from the atomizer is arranged for it, since at that time the air is very dry in the premises, and this adversely affects the condition of bougainvillea. But do not get carried away, as excess moisture can lead to a number of fungal diseases.

Soil and transplantation

Growing bougainvillea, you need to watch that it was planted in a nutritious, fertile land mixed with coarse sand. Transplantation occurs in young plants every two years, and in adults - once every three to five years. The capacity for this is chosen a little more than before. Transplanting plants, old com do not destroy, and together with a lump plant in a new land. In order not to decay the roots, the bottom of the pot is laid drainage from expanded clay or broken bricks. It was noticed that in very spacious pots not so abundantly blooms bougainvillea.

Care: o slashing and breeding

After flowering, young branches are pruned, leaving a few buds for active growth of new shoots. Branches, whose age is more than 3 years, do not touch. Spring and summer are the period of plant propagation by propagation of green shoots. Cutting the stalk under the kidney, treat it as a growth stimulator. Tear off the leaves and put in a mixture of sand and peat. You can put it in a greenhouse, or you can just cover it with a jar. Cuttings should stand in a bright place. Rooted plant for about a month.

Propagation of plants and layers. In an apartment this method gives the biggest guarantee of rooting. Take a flexible, still young, but already ripe stalk, previously make incisions on the bark in several places and peg it to the ground. After rooting, cut it off from the mother shoot.

A magnificent plant, whose beauty can be admired from year to year - it's bougainville. Care will be for her joy, if you follow certain rules of her maintenance in the apartment.
