The drug "Valz" instruction characterizes as an antagonist of angiotensin II receptors. The active ingredient is valsartan. The drug has an antihypertensive effect.

The onset of action is observed after two hours after administration, the efficacy reaches a maximum after four or six hours. The duration of the therapeutic effect lasts more than twenty-four hours. Regular use of the drug allows you to achieve a persistent reduction in blood pressure after two or four weeks. With the discontinuation of taking "Valz" medication, withdrawal syndrome does not develop.

The drug is prescribed for hypertension. To the indications for the "Valz" device, the instruction refers to chronic heart failure (in complex treatment, except for the combination with beta-adrenoblocker and ACE inhibitor). The medication is prescribed to reduce the mortality of patients with acute infarction (in the period of ten to twelve days), accompanied by systolic dysfunction or left ventricular insufficiency with stable hemodynamic parameters.

The drug is administered regardless of food intake.

The medicine "Valz" the instruction recommends in case of arterial hypertension to take in the initial dosage eighty milligrams a day. In the first two weeks, the hypotensive effect begins to develop. The maximum result is noted in four weeks. If the daily dose of eighty milligrams does not have the necessary therapeutic effect, you should double the amount of medication "Valz". 160 mg is prescribed only if the drug is well tolerated.

With heart failure of the chronic stage, the drug is recommended at an initial dose of forty milligrams twice a day. In case of insufficient therapeutic effect, it is allowed to increase (gradually) the amount of the drug to 80 mg twice a day and (with good tolerability) to 160 mg twice a day.

From the beginning of treatment and until the maximum dosage is achieved, it is necessary to maintain an interval of not less than two weeks. A day should not take more than 320 milligrams. With the simultaneous use of diuretic drugs, it is possible to lower the dosage of the drug "Valz".

The instruction allows to prescribe the drug within twelve hours after a heart attack (acute) with stable hemodynamic parameters. The initial dosage is twenty milligrams (half a tablet of 40 mg) twice a day. Subsequently, a gradual increase in the dose to 40, 80, 160 milligrams twice a day is permissible. Achieving the maximum allowable amount of a drug per day (320 milligrams) takes several weeks.

In case of disorders of renal activity, dosage should be reduced.

Taking medication can trigger the development of certain unwanted phenomena. Side effects include, in particular, orthostatic hypotension, cough, heart failure, bleeding, nausea, diarrhea, headache, decreased libido, depression. The drug can cause neuralgia, insomnia, fainting, dizziness. In some cases, there may be thrombocytopenia, arthralgia, back pain, neutropenia, itching, muscle cramps. When taking the medicine, serum sickness, arthritis and other side effects are also observed.

The drug "WALZ" is contraindicated in case of individual intolerance, to patients under eighteen years old, nursing and pregnant patients. The drug is also not prescribed for intolerance to lactose, with galactosemia.

About the drug "Valz" reviews of patients are extremely rare. Some experts consider the drug to be quite effective in the fight against hypertension.
