The composition "Summer Night". Description as a means of development of speech

It is difficult to imagine a school in which one never gave the task of writing an essay. Such topics as "My family", "How I spent the summer", "Who I dream to become" or the story "Summer Night", are known to every student. After all, the composition-description is an obligatory part of the school curriculum.

What is a composition-description?

The writing of this kind is no different from other works of art. Its main feature is that most of the text's proposals answer the question "what?". In such texts, the words "as if", "like", "look like" are often found. A composition-description is a work that contains a description of something. And the main task of the student is to list the main signs of nature, an object or a person. In this case, provide a description of the summer night. The writing of this type differs from the artistic narratives by another feature.

Verb, where are you?

If you compare texts-narratives and texts-descriptions, you can notice that in the second case, verbs are practically not used. And if used, it is always in the same time. Moreover, all the verbs in the composition-description of the imperfect kind, which, however, is not surprising, because the main task of the student is to tell what he sees. As a philologist once said, "a description is a verbal picture." And to learn how to "take pictures with words," you should try to write an essay "Summer Night". The description of nature is always given much easier, because everyone knows it.

"Summer night"

But if inspiration still does not come, you can read Bunin's poem "Summer Night". Here, nature seems to have its own emotions, which are transmitted to people, and its description only emphasizes the relationship of the protagonists of the work. In the poem the author uses avatars and epithets, which make his description more profound, sensual and authentic. Analysis of the poem "Summer Night" shows that the author describes nature simply and concisely. His words are clear to everyone, but at the same time he personifies the surrounding world with the human soul, which can be clearly seen in the poem "Summer Night". The description of nature is directly related to human experience.

Can this be used?

Bunin's strategy in describing nature can also be used in writing the text "Summer Night". The composition should then have several introductory elements, for example:

  • A lonely traveler who admires something.
  • Conversation of several people. A small dialogue can well reflect the general atmosphere of a summer night.
  • Exclamation. An accidentally inserted replica of the exclamation, which was heard somewhere far away, is another good method to show the relation of nature to man.

Such techniques can be invented many, most importantly - do not forget that "Summer Night" is a description, not a story of a different genre.

Layout of the composition-description

And more importantly, when writing a composition, it is worth following a generally accepted plan, which consists of three main points:

1. Introduction. That is, it is necessary to write a general description of the described object or phenomenon.

2. The main part. Here it is worth paying more attention to the details of which an object or phenomenon consists. For example, in the book "Summer Night" the description of the main part can include such concepts as:

  • Where was the night? That is, in which city, country or village.
  • Time. It can be mentioned that if it is the beginning or the middle of summer, the air is warm and humid, and if the end of this time of year, then at night you can feel the autumn coolness.
  • Weather. It is not superfluous to pay attention to weather phenomena.
  • Actions. Though there are not enough verbs in the descriptions, there are few verbs, but you can describe what is happening in the world: the night is silent and silent, there is talk and laughter or chirping of crickets. Similar actions that occur in nature are also part of the description.

3. Conclusion. "Summer Night" is an essay filled with emotions that are close to everyone, so in conclusion you can describe your own attitude to what is happening, sensations or give predictions about what will happen in the morning or what the next night will bring.

Example of an essay

"And the summer night is a pleasant nostalgia. As if everything around whispers that there was a time when everything was different. And it's only this dark rogue that needs to descend to the ground, as images from the past arise in memory.

Nights - they are similar: today's, yesterday's or the one that was a year ago, are like two drops of water. The constellations flicker serenely in the sky, laughter of people who are gathered by a small company is heard in the distance. The wind carelessly spends his hand over the plants and soars into the skies. Darkness is pierced by the light of street lamps, and in the air a heady aroma of flowers is heard. Every summer night is the same. And yet for everyone it has its own.

Everyone carries in his memory, a special summer night, a time when immense happiness seemed incomprehensible. When there were those who are not around. Then it seemed that even the wind from enthusiasm rattled amid the sleepy branches of trees, crickets sing the summer hymn: "Let luck come!", And the constellations try to shine as brightly as possible. Even the star flying through the black sky seemed to try to take part in the general merriment.

But only a person is not able to understand the sadness of a star that can not return to heaven. Similarly, he can not turn back time. And only summer nights will remain a vivid reminder of what used to be fun. After all, everything around was the same as before, and at the same time everything became completely different. "

The writing-description does not have to be built from monotonous sentences that describe how warm it is (fresh, cold, mysterious, dark, fragrant, short) night. It is quite acceptable to combine natural phenomena and human emotions, events or memories. Then the composition-description will become more profound, colorful and understandable.
