The fantasy genre is very popular with viewers and readers. But how many really bright and interesting works? If you think about it, then, perhaps, not so much. The legendary saga "The Lord of the Rings" is oriented more towards the adult circle of readers, but what remains for the young admirers of the fantasy genre? We recommend a good and very beautiful story from a close friend of JRR Tolkien - Clive S. Lewis called "The Chronicles of Narnia." The fairy-tale kingdom and its inhabitants, children led by Peter Pevensey, and, of course, magic - all this will engulf the reader with his head and make you come back again and again to your favorite heroes.

Books by Clive S. Lewis

The Irish and British writer (pictured above), the theologian and scholar was born in 1898 in Belfast. He is known for a series of books about the fictional country of Narnia and about the unusual adventures of children in it. A total of 7 works were produced. The first book was published in 1950. In a magic country, animals talk and heroes of ancient legends and fairy tales live, but the main theme is as old as the world - the struggle between good and evil. The writer included subtle hints of Christian ideas in an accessible form for young readers, in addition he added characters from Greek and Roman mythology, traditional Irish tales.

Peter Pevensey

His character is one of the main in a series of books in the genre of fantasy. His personality appears in four of the seven stories told by the author, in the first two as a child, and in the final he is already an adult man. This is the eldest son of the Pevensey family. If you adhere to the literary description given by the author of the books, he has light blond hair, piercing blue eyes, an article and a high growth. He has two sisters and a brother, being the elder, willy-nilly, he feels responsible for them. Peter Pevensey has an impulsive and somewhat nervous nature, but is very kind and caring, especially in relation to the baby Lucy. The fairy people of Narnia appropriated to him the epithet "splendid". The surname of Pevensey denotes the location of the castle of the Middle Ages in the southeast of England.

"The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe"

According to the earthly calendar, Peter was born in 1927 and during the Second World War, along with the rest of the children, Pevensey was evacuated from London to a country house where the professor lived. It was at this time that the events of the first book of the series unfolded. At the moment when he and his brother and sisters get through the wardrobe to the fairy-tale country, he is 13 years old. Mysterious and mysterious Narnia is covered with snow, it reigns eternal winter, because power is captured by the evil White Witch. As the oldest in the family, Peter Pevensey (pictured above) initially decides not to participate in the fight against her, but at this time the younger brother Edmund, who succumbed to the queen's charms, escapes. With the help of Lev Aslan and the magic gifts of the Father Christmas, they save Narnia and become, as it is said in ancient tradition, its kings and queens. The four of them rule the fairy-tale country for 15 years, by this time Peter is 28 years old. One day they again find a secret door to the closet and return to England. It's only in the real world that only a few hours have passed and they are children again.

Prince Caspian

The events of the book unfold almost a year after the previous ones, for Narnia during this time flew a thousand years. The children of the Pevensey family are already accustomed to the idea that they have left the magic country forever, and they are leading the life of ordinary London schoolchildren. The exiled Prince Caspian, with the help of the magic horn of Queen Susan (the eldest of the sisters), calls them to help to save Narnia again, this time Peter Pevensey will have to fight King Miraz to save the magical people.

In other books of the series, the matured character is of secondary importance and does not take an active part, but is only mentioned in some episodes.

The most famous adaptation of the first book was released in 2005, shooting took place in New Zealand and the Czech Republic. The film almost completely corresponds to the text and has only insignificant differences. Readers are certainly interested in knowing who plays Peter Pevensi.
