Medication "Intetriks": instructions

The drug "Intetriks" is a drug used to treat intestinal amebiasis with the presence of tissue amoebocytes, for the treatment of asymptomatic cases of this disease. The main form of the drug is capsules.

The drug "Intetrix". Instruction: composition, pharmacokinetics

The drug contains the following active substances: tilichinol, tilbronquinol. The auxiliary components include corn starch, lactose monohydrate, titanium dioxide, gelatin, azorubin, indigotine, lauryl sulfate.

The drug is intended for oral administration. The maximum content in blood plasma is reached four hours after the use of the capsule. The elimination half-life is ten hours. A drug is allocated 24 hours after application through the intestine. It is practically not absorbed in the stomach, which allows maintaining effective concentrations for a long period.

Pharmacological effects in chronic forms of amebiasis are achieved through a combination of active substances of the drug, which have a pronounced antiseptic effect. This medicine also shows activity against fungi of the candida, lamblia, klebsiella, some Escherichia coli strains, cholera vibrios. This is due to the broad antimicrobial spectrum of action of the drug. The drug does not disrupt the normal balance of the intestinal microflora, does not cause plasmid resistance.

It is necessary to take two capsules in the evening, in the morning. It is advisable to do this at the very beginning of the meal. The capsule is taken as a whole, it should be drunk with plenty of water. The course of treatment is ten days (for amoebiasis). The drug "Intetriks" with giardiasis should be taken in the same dosages. The duration of treatment is determined individually and depends on the form of the disease, the intensity of its symptoms.

Among the side effects, the most frequent occurrence of allergic reactions of immediate type (Quincke's edema, urticaria), permanent pigmentation of erythema. With prolonged admission, disorders of the optic nerve function , peripheral neuropathy can be observed. The use of the drug sometimes causes an increase in the serum levels of the transaminase content.

Capsules "Intetriks". Instruction: drug interactions, special instructions, overdose

The drug is not recommended to be prescribed simultaneously with drugs that contain hydroxyquinolines.

In the presence of liver failure, increasing the content of transaminases in the blood, therapy should be discontinued. The use of the drug for more than ten days is inappropriate because of the occurrence of peripheral neuropathy. During pregnancy, the drug can only be used after consultation with the doctor and taking into account the condition of the woman.

With prolonged use, the following symptoms of overdose may occur: increased serum transaminase activity, changes in coagulation rates. To exclude such effects, their constant monitoring during the period of therapy is necessary.

The drug "Intetriks" with Klebsiella can be used only in cases of intolerance of the main drugs for the treatment of this disease. Dosage and course of treatment are appointed individually.

The medicine should be stored at a temperature not exceeding 25 degrees, in places inaccessible to children. Its shelf life is three years. At the end of this period, the use of this drug is prohibited because of a decrease in its pharmacological efficacy.
