Biography

Maxim Munzuk was born on May 2, 1910 (according to other sources, the date of his birth was September 15, 1912). The future actor was not yet 18 years old, when he voluntarily joined the ranks of the Tuvan People's Revolutionary Army, where he found a teacher in music in the person of Korovin Semyon Grigorievich. As a Kapellmeister, this man first taught Maxim the musical basics, and then took him to his orchestra. Maxim Munzuk, thus, began to play on the pipe.

Noticing how talented his pupil is, Korovin begs permission from local authorities to send Maxim to study in the Soviet capital. The biographical drama "Dersu Uzala" tells about the fate of two comrades - the writer Arsenyev and the brave hunter, whose wisdom and kindness arouse sincere admiration from the audience, during their joint fascinating journey. The painting, for the production of which was spent 4 million dollars, received several awards, including the Oscar as the best film in a foreign language.

In the late 1970s, director Andrei Konchalovsky proposed the actor to play in the military drama of the mini-series "Sibiryada" format. In the film, to which Eduard Artemyev wrote music, the main roles were performed by Natalia Andreichenko and Sergei Shakurov. In this story, a small Siberian village becomes the arena of the everyday confrontation between the wealthy Solomins and the poor Ustyuzhany. The film won at the Cannes Film Festival in 1979, receiving the Grand Prix of the jury.

Noteworthy role

In this drama of the 1950s, the fate of people of different nationalities exiled to one of the Siberian villages is narrated.
