Sotsabsurdist Yuri Mamin

In the recent past, the Soviet and now Russian director of theater and cinema, script writer Yuri Mamin not without reason was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia. In individual films, the author also acted as a composer, composing music for his works. At the film festival in Switzerland, the widow herself of the great and unsurpassed film genius personally presented the maestro "Chaplin's Golden cane". Mamin Yuri - the director, whose track record is known not only to the domestic audience:

  1. The Rockman.
  2. "Wish you…".
  3. "Do not think about white monkeys."
  4. "The Feast of Neptune."
  5. "Russian horror stories."
  6. "Fountain".
  7. "Bitterly!".
  8. "Sancho from the ranch."
  9. "Whiskers".
  10. "We are sailing to Hawaii."
  11. "Window to Paris."
  12. "Rains in the ocean."

Not the best of times

Now the master is going through a far from the best period, he was tired yet ineffective search for funding for the filming of the satirical sequel "Window to Paris, 20 years later." Yuri Mamin created the first painting "Window to Paris" in the distant 1993. The film became a mirror, accurately reflecting all the processes that took place in society in the early 90's. Inspired by the success of the film, which the audience appreciated with healthy self-irony, the director increasingly returned to the idea of creating a sequel. Since he believes that the ability to laugh at his own defectiveness and his shortcomings is a great gift, and the initial step towards curing the society of diseases. The idea of the director was supported by the script writer Vladimir Vardunas, but his sudden death further pushed the process of starting production. Last year, Yuri Mamin decided to implement their common plan, and there was a problem with funding.

Mad phantasmagoria

Unlike other film works of the director, more or less clear and sometimes predictable, it is almost impossible to classify the genre belonging of the movie "Do not Think About White Monkeys". For a long time the silent comedian finally pleased the viewer by creating a natural magnum opus, with his author's forms, pluses and minuses. This enchanting phantasmagoria, unrestrained satire. Mom managed in a decent timing (two hours), ignoring the peculiarities of the audience's perception, to shove almost all known variations of the beautiful - oral, musical, written and visual. The audience will certainly remember the soundtrack from the movie "Do not think about white monkeys." The composition written by the director is similar to the Mephistophelesque divertissement of the memory of all composers.

Sublime or earthly

If the form of creation Mamina makes no special claims, rather a discouraged surprise, then the content is clearly limping. The protagonist is a promising and talented bartender Vladimir, it's easier Vova (Mikhail Tarabukin), receives from his future father-in-law and chef Gavrilych a decent amount to transform the flooded basement into a tavern, and attic-attic - to the office. With the basement everything turned out perfectly well, but in the attic of the hero waiting for an unexpected reprimand in the form of: unlucky Daria (Ekaterina Ksenyeva), prone to suicide and striptease; Alcoholic and free artist Gennady (Alexei Devotchenko); Strange man Hu-Pun. Guided by mercantile considerations, the protagonist decides to use the hiding bohemia as a laborer. But the convergence of Vova and the strange trinity causes a radical change in the psyche of the protagonist and everything in his life flips by somersault.

Kitsch show

In order to reach the viewer, Yuri Mamin arranges large-scale shamanism in his projects: songs and dances alternate with sculpture and painting, continue with philosophical dialogues and recitation with the participation of Basilashvili and Jurassic. Illustrative and "forays" of the author in the "personal" main character and in the "collective" - a madhouse. The author's reception with shooting of a parallel tape in the Hermitage is interesting.

Sotsabsurdist

Yuri Mamin films shoot similar champagne - burlesque, sometimes ridiculously tangled, similar to the unparalleled kitsch show. Looking at his works of cinema art over and over again comes to a shaky path of interpretation, which because of the abundance of satirical parodies and the mass of cultural references becomes even more unstable. Surprisingly, Sotsabsurdist Mamin managed to remain topical with the eternal exciting allegory of Russian thought. The director's message, if you recall his filmography: "Window to Paris", "Neptune's Feast", "Sideburns" and "Fountain", is similar to the series lasting a quarter of a century. Another work draws attention to Mamin's commitment to three metaphors - home, attic-roof and cellar. In general, all the works of the author are similar to the world festival of crafts and arts. It can not be said that they are kept in suspense every minute, they just calm down, they gush forth with half-forgotten moods and fantastic images. It can not be said that the director singles out an irreproachable taste in everything, but each of his creations is a film of high and low.
