Brigitte Bardot: biography, filmography and the personal life of the actress

The legendary French film actress Brigitte Bardot (full name Brigitte Anne-Marie Bardot), was born on September 28, 1934 in Paris. Parents, Louis Bardo and Anna Maria Mussel, tried to connect Brigitte and her younger sister Jeanne to the dance. Girls willingly engaged in choreography, learned French and German dance performances. However, Jeanne soon abandoned her studies, as she was drawn to more exact sciences, mathematics and physics. Brigitte continued to study and dreamed of a career as a ballerina. The girl had a natural grace and was very plastic.

Podium and Vadim Roger

When Brigitte turned 13, she successfully passed the entrance exams to the Academy of Dance and was enrolled in the course of ballet art, led by a wonderful Russian pedagogue-choreographer Boris Knyazev.

Learning the dance art, Brigitte tried to find application of her talents in ordinary life. In 1949 she began to appear on the podium in fashion shows, and later she was invited to a photo shoot for the French magazine "Garden of Fashion". A year later the photos of Brigitte Bardot appeared in the popular glossy magazine ELLE. Then it was noticed by the young beginning film director Roger Vadim. He showed the photo of the girl to his friend, the more experienced director Mark Allegre, and he without hesitation invited Brigitte to screen test.

Debut in the cinema

Debut in the movie with Bardot took place in 1952 in the movie "The Norman Failure", where she played in a pair with Burville. In the next four years, the young, but already held actress starred in another 16 films that were classified as low-budget productions and could not have a significant impact on her career growth. Brigitte Bardot, whose films left much to be desired, was already the wife of the young director Roger Vadim. Thus, in 1953 she was at the Film Festival in Cannes and there she met many representatives of French cinema.

Breakthrough

The year 1956 was for Brigitte Bardot the beginning of her dizzying career, she starred in the movie "And God Created a Woman" in the role of eighteen-year-old Juliette Ardie, who literally bursts between fans. The film became the directorial debut of Roger Vadim, who tried to create as many shocking episodes in the course of the plot's development. The scene where the nude Juliette dances on the table, has resented the whole of conservative America, in Europe, too, not everyone liked this looseness of director's thought. Many considered the film the beginning of the sexual revolution. An outrageous film really served as an impetus to the reassessment of moral values by the American "dream factory".

Hollywood abandoned Puritanism in the film industry, stopped avoiding frivolous scenarios, actors and actresses appeared who were ready to appear in films with erotic episodes. French actress Brigitte Bardot became a symbol of sexual unrest in the cinema.

In 1959, Brigitte starred in the film "Babette Goes to War" directed by Christian-Jacques. She played Babette, who settled herself for a job in a brothel, but in connection with the outbreak of World War II and the general evacuation, she did not begin her duties. However, she still had to work, the girl was identified in the British intelligence service, and eventually Babette and her partner, the French intelligence officer Gerard, faced a task of military and political importance.
