The film "This awkward moment": reviews, description, reviews, actors and roles

In the history of cinema there are three films with the title "This awkward moment". Reviews, despite their identical genre policy, radically differ among themselves. The first is a 1977 picture of the French producer and director Claude Berry, the second is a modern remake of the year 2015 by the son of producer Tom Langmann, and the third is a romance of the debutant-director Tom Gormikan in 2014. Each film is quite frank, each has comic and tragic motifs.

Claude Berry's French tragicomedy

In the 1970s, all the French comedies that got into Soviet hire were subjected to severe censorship. Therefore, the individual works of the famous French director and producer Claude Berry, known to the domestic audience on the comedies "Bobro Phorzhal!" And "Asterix and Obelix", the entrance to the screens of Soviet cinemas was ordered. Therefore, his 1977 film "This awkward moment" (reviews by international film critics do not call it particularly "preoccupied") is not well known to domestic film-makers. After all, the picture with a different name "Minute mental obscuration" is quite frank. The main theme of the film was the notorious "man's panic", the social changes caused by the sexual revolution, which turned the representatives of the strong half of humanity from the masters of life into slaves, dependent on women's whims. Reviews and reviews of the film "This awkward moment" in the 70's were outraged and mostly negative, since they were written mainly by male film critics.

A mind-boggling remake

The attempt of Tom Langmann, son of Berry, also a producer, an Oscar winner for "Artist", to remind the whole world about one of the most provocative films of his father ended with the release of an adapted tape remake. Released in 2015 "This awkward moment" description and reviews were similar to the original. The director Jean-François Richet turned provocative and frank, but makes us think about the tragicomedy about the unexpectedly arising relationship of a very middle-aged hero with the young (almost adult) daughter of his best friend. Jean-François Richet, a former remakeist who previously directed exclusively criminal films ("Assault on the 13th Station"), worked in a creative alliance with screenwriter Lisa Azuelos, who is considered a professional in the youth field. The girl was already the author of the famous French school romantic film "LOL" and put a remake of the same film called "Summer. Classmates. Love". The project "This awkward moment" reviews the film as a significant career step for both the screenwriter and the director of the remake.

Plot

Corsican Antoine (François Cluse) who has not lived for a long time on his native island, once decides to return to his native land and show his 17-year-old daughter Luna (Lola Le Lann) to Votchin. Together with them the best friend of Antoine Laurent (Vincent Cassel) and his daughter 18-year-old Marie (Alice Issas) are sent to Corsica. Having presented before a choice - to be bored at home or to break away at night discos and beach parties, girls give preference to the last and resolutely adjusted send in searches of man's company. Marie is looking for a company of peers, but the Moon begins to look closely and take interest in Laurent. Once, while being under the influence of hot drinks, they go to night swimming, which because of the arrogant flirting of a young beauty ends in sex on the beach. In the morning, the enamored Moon flutters with happiness, discouraged Laurent burns with shame, fearing the righteous wrath of Antoine, who hides a hunting shotgun. This moment of the movie "This awkward moment" (France) reviews are called the most provocative and burning.

The moral dilemma

As a result of the joint work of Azuelos and Richet, the remake "This awkward moment" adapted under the chaotic modernity turned out, the reviews were immediately called by his curious tragic-comic picture. The value of the film is not that it really captivates and sufficiently entertains the beholder, but that the questions posed by the creators of the viewers after watching for a long time can not be thrown out of their heads. The main moral dilemma of the picture is whether a young person could be so persistently imposed on an adult man and whether a person who is a good old school father should be able to go about her. After all, the spectator instinctively feels that something and somehow it is not so. What moral standards to assess the actions of heroes? After all, in our crazy age of certainty and clear categoricity is not found. What is better: to look and feel or trust the opinion of professionals, making a bid for reviews and reviews? The film "This awkward moment" will make everyone think.

Drama or comedy?

The picture "This awkward moment" shakily balances between comedy and drama. Funny scenes and jokes in the picture quite a bit, they do not cause attacks of Homeric laughter, often only a grin. The degree of drama also does not go off scale, because the scenes in which passions must boil and explode are mitigated by the comic bias. It should be noted that there are relatively few erotic films in the cinema, it is present solely for the sake of the plot. And having candid episodes turned out to be seductive and beautiful.

Acting Casting

Analyzing the film "This awkward moment", the reviews celebrate the brilliant casting of the film. To the actor's game and really do not carp. Clusoe and Cassel are real professionals, Lola Le Lann compensates for some of her blunders with a luxurious figure. But the feelings convey much more believable than the main character of the original. Kassel, of course, looks decent, much better and more athletic than the main character of the original film Berry. If you compare the characters of the two paintings, the advantages will be on the side of the modern film. The original is more like a farcical parable, not pretending to be true. A new story makes us believe in what is happening, especially if we look at it with male eyes.

Romy director-debutant

"This awkward moment" (2014) is a debutant's romance directed by Tom Gormikan, who before participating in this project acted as one of the producers of the cynical comedy "Muvi 43". The cinema is characterized by an expressive picture, lively entertaining dialogues and an ideally chosen soundtrack. Description for the film "This awkward moment" (USA) will tell the story of three bosom buddies, who are uneven in their personal lives, so they are building themselves hardened cynics, but behind a showy cynicism lusts for romance.

Plot

The protagonist Jason (Zac Efron) enjoys all the benefits of bachelorhood, his friend Daniel (Miles Teller) tries to imitate him in all things and keep up. Their third friend Mikey (Michael B. Jordan) is married, but at the moment when his wife is filing for divorce, friends regard it as a sign from above and begin to light up in the clubs already three. The trinity solemnly promises each other not to start a relationship. But fate has completely different plans for them. All three performers of the main roles are charming and natural, they perfectly complement each other.

Result

The plot of the film is conditional and far-fetched, but as a result, Tom Gormikan got an energetic and lively romantic comedy, created as if by classical patterns of the genre. Predictable and banal, it has an old-world morality - everyone has to grow up and learn responsibility. And with it, the picture was nice and pleasant, reminiscent of the work of Kevin Smith, for example, "In pursuit of Amy." Of course, Gormiken did not reach the level of the master, but adequately maintains the balance between modern existentialism, romance and humor. His creation does not have innovative refinements, does not surprise, and at times even calms and lulls. This is not the most original pastime, but under the appropriate mood will go as well as possible.
