Advise a good book

There is a list of hundreds of books that every person who claims to be intelligent should read . People who are just beginning to get acquainted with the best works of world classics, one should often ask: advise a good book. And if I was asked what kind of book you would advise to read, I would answer without hesitation: one of Remarque's best novels "Three Comrades" (German Drei Kameraden). For the first time this novel was published in Denmark (the publishing house Gyldendal), in Russian was published in 1958.

Erich Maria Remarque fought in the First World War, his share fell all that fell then the whole of Germany, and even Europe. Almost every his work I want to recommend to a request: advise a good book. But this one is the best.

People just live. Three comrades: the protagonist Robert Lokamp (Robbie), Otto Koester and Gottfried Lenz, passionate car lovers, maintain a car repair shop. Robert, for friends - Robbie, an auto mechanic, a wonderful friend and a man with a great sense of humor. However, his friends also know how to laugh at themselves and cute to make fun of others.

But not in cars. First, it is their life, their earnings, their business. Secondly, this is their great love. From the old wagon, over which the owners of new cars invariably amuse themselves, they made an almost racing car: they put a powerful engine, replaced all junk with new details. That's just the body of the "Carl" was old - especially to wipe the nose braggart. So they overtook the track, and as if this is the most common thing, Buke, whose owner, fortunately, was a man adequate.

This was extremely important, because the passenger in his car was Patricia Holman. They, Robbie and Pat, met thanks to "Karl".

It seems to be happiness. People from different backgrounds, they really love. And Pat accepted the furnished room of Robbie as if it were the best of the palaces. The war went on and before the wealthy people: Patricia starved in childhood and it was the cause of tuberculosis.

Pat joined the life of friends. She became the fourth. She went with them to the race and passionately supported Karla, who always won. She ate with them crayfish and even the stern Alphonse, the owner of the cafe, recognized her as a unique and beautiful lady. Well, Lentz, the last of the romantics, admitted even more so. Otto Koester, like an older brother, looked after all of them so that everything was in order.

However, the trouble has come - open the gate. The Nazis are killing Lentz - by chance, having made their mark. Kester "met" the killer before Robert. And then Patricia falls ill: she has another exacerbation of tuberculosis.

She knew that she would not return from the sanatorium. Kester, when Robert ran out of money, sold "Karl", although it was like losing his right hand.

But Pat still died.

A helpless brief narration of the plot - simply because this book remains in the heart - as a memory of people who were your friends. Yes, these are only literary heroes, but it is understandable that they had real prototypes. The most important friend is Remarque himself. Everyone who accepted his books took him as a friend. Became his friend.

It is completely unimportant that he has long since left for another world. Geniuses do not die! And if they tell you: advise a good book, among the first three, call this!

Good books always - even in times of book abundance - are difficult to find on sale. True, now the matter is greatly simplified: there were electronic books, where you can download any work you want to read.

The advantage of electronic books, in addition to the convenience of reading, is that they imitate paper, their screen is made using electronic ink technology (E-Ink / SiPix), the text is easy to read. Eyes from reading do not get tired at all.

If you turn to the seller of a computer store with a request: advise a good e-book, he is likely to advise just such. The best of the tablets are PocketBook: they read almost all formats in which there can be a book: FB2, FB2.zip, TXT, PDF, RTF, HTML, PRC, CHM, DJVU, DOC, EPUB, TCR.

The PocketBook screen is usually such that the whole page is visible, they have a screen diagonal of 7 inches (17.5 centimeters), with a resolution of 480x800 pixels. True paper-like E-Ink does not emit light, that is, without illumination, you do not read them. Books with LCD-displays have their own backlight, but if you read them in the dark, your eyes get tired. Memory for almost all e-books on average 500 MB, that is, you can download a decent library at the same time in about 500 books. To the request: advise a good book, you can give at least hundreds of titles that humanity has brought into its treasury.

Some of them can voice music, show drawings. The books necessarily have a Wi-Fi module, through which it is easy to download books without connecting to a stationary computer.

The network has a lot of resources with paid and free literature, therefore, books already downloaded to the device are a pleasant addition, rather than a choice criterion.

Recently appeared a completely new tablet in 2012 PocketBook, running on the operating system Android Gingerbread! It has 1 Hz processor Texas Instruments TI3621, 2 GB of flash memory, external SD memory, Wi-Fi antenna, headphone jack.
