The best place for fishing is Lake Zaisan

Lake Zaisan (Kazakhstan) is the largest in its country. But, besides this, it seems very unusual. For example, when night falls and stars appear in the sky, strange sounds are heard on the lake that resemble the noise of electric wires. This feature gave the reservoir a second name - "the lake of the bell chime".

Location of Zaisan

The lake is located 30 km from the city of Kiin-Kerisha on a flat plain between the Kalabinskoye, Altai and Tartagagai mountain ranges. It stretched from the south-east to the north-west.

Description of the lake

Lake Zaysan is very large: its length is 105 km and its width is 48 km. The maximum depth of the reservoir is 15 meters. At this size it is not enough, therefore the lake is considered shallow. But in earlier times Zaisan was much deeper and even longer. This conclusion can be made if you look at the old surf, which left their mark on the low-lying shores. They are located far from the current coastline.

Now the lake Zaisan has low, gently sloping banks, which are covered with a lot of water plants, including cane. But this basin has many sandy picturesque capes, among them Barkhocki and Baklaniy, on which there is absolutely no aquatic vegetation. Also the most famous capes that grow out of mountain hills are Sandy, Naked, Golodayevsky, Vershinin.

The bottom of the lake has a silty composition, covered with a small pebble. Some sites have a sandy bottom. The smooth water of the water is smooth, without islands. But near the mouth of the Black Irtysh there is still a pair of small islets.

The lake is unusually clear, clear water. The fact is that the food of the reservoir is due to the mountain rivers, which are formed from snows and rains. In addition, there are no industrial enterprises or cities on the coast and in its environs, therefore nothing harms the ecological state of the lake.

Several rivers flow into Lake Zaysan. As already mentioned, from the east there is Black Irtysh, as well as Kendyrlyk. From the north - the rivers Arasan, Cherga, Ters-Arlyk and several others, and the Irtysh flows. Also there are Bugaz, Kokpektinka and Bazar, which flow into the lake from the west.

Fishing on the lake

The abundance of fish is the pride of Zaisan. Here there are 23 species of fish, and among them seventeen are commercial. The most valuable here is the taimen. But also here are caught bream, burbot, zander, tench, crucian, pike, ide and perch. In addition, there are a lot of crayfish in the lake . Fishing on Zaisan, even for beginners in fishing business will be successful, and no one will be left without a catch. Usually they can easily catch carp, pike, perch or burbot.

Where to stay

The best option for a night's lodging is the fishing village of Akshuat. She settled on the bank of Zaisan. The main activity of its inhabitants is fishing. Local families are very hospitable and friendly to tourists. If desired, they can give you an orientation tour, which will allow you to plunge into the atmosphere of fishing life.

Also the village itself is very picturesque. It stands at the very water, where the banks have an interesting, unusual shape and color (local clay has several different shades). Since everything is close to the beach, you can swim in soft, refreshing water at any time. Lake Zaisan is an unusual low-polluted place where the water is warm enough and favorable for bathing.

Local Fauna

It is interesting that about a hundred years ago in these parts of the lake, wild double-humped camels, kulans, saigas, tigers, Przhevalsky horses, gazelles found their home. But even now, sometimes you can meet some rare animals. Also there live foxes, ground squirrels and other animals. In the sky you can see how the steppe eagle soars, and the lark in the steppe floods. Therefore, in addition to fishing, you can relax by the lake at the lake, listening to feathered trills.

Climate and weather in Zaisan

But what kind of weather can be expected while traveling on a trip to Zaisan? We must not forget that the climatic conditions here are due to the location of the lake. It is located in central Eurasia in the East Kazakhstan region, so the climate is sharply continental. Also on weather conditions affect the Altai Mountains, which are located on this territory. So, the weather in Zaisan differs by sharp temperature changes not only between the seasons. Also at night and day, the thermometer's performance varies greatly.

This area is distinguished by a hot summer, dry, but not without precipitation. Winter comes cold and carries a lot of snow. Blizzards are very common here. On average, the January temperature drops to -33 ° C. But sometimes the Arctic air masses invade the territory, and the thermometer can show -52 ° C. The lake is tightened by ice in November, and the ice drift begins by the end of April.

At the same time, when summer comes, the air is heated to +37 ° C, and sometimes, on dry days, the mark reaches +45 ° C. Such temperatures are often provoked by steppe fires.
