Hong Kong International Airport is located on an artificial island, which was built on the site of two stony sites - Lam Chau and Chek Lap Kok. 1 terminal

The area of the first terminal is 57 hectares. On its territory there is a reception desk for passengers, a loading area, a passenger corridor and a shopping area. In the terminal building 1, for the convenience of pedestrians, a three-kilometer escalator, a high-speed transit system and unmanned transport on shuttles operate. Clear signposts and a simple layout are designed for the maximum comfort of passengers.

The building of this terminal is equipped with two elevators. It consists of eight floors. At the first level of the terminal is the registration area. On the fourth floor passengers pass customs and immigration control. On the sixth tier a passport check is carried out. On the eighth floor there is a ticket inspection.

2 terminal

Building 2 of the terminal was opened in 2007. It covers an area of 14 hectares. Only the registration area is located here. After passing the registration, passengers on the high-speed transport system pass to the building of the first terminal for the landing. A great advantage of the terminal is an additional access to the sea pier. The second terminal is the center of air, land and sea transport. On the territory of the airport there is a service that helps tourist groups and individual passengers to stay in nearby hotels of the country.

In the same building there is a large entertainment shopping center "Sky Plaza". It is full of restaurants, shops, boutiques and entertainment. On the roof of the terminal there is an observation deck with a magnificent view of Hong Kong (the airport) and the surrounding area.
