The Bakal Spit (Crimea). Rest on the Black Sea

In the west of the peninsula Crimea there is a very unusual place that will be interesting to see lovers of the sea and its natural monuments. This Bakalsky spit is a narrow and long strip of land that goes to the sea for several kilometers. It is not so easy to get here, since this territory is a zone of a nature reserve. The park "Bakalskaya Kosa" (Crimea) can get no more than fifty thousand people a year.

Geographical position

From the north-west to the south-east of the peninsula stretches the Bakal Spit. The map shows that it goes deep into the water area of the Karkinitsky Bay in the Black Sea. This strip of land is located between Bakal Lake and the bay of the same name. In the north it narrows and smoothly passes to Cape Peschaniy, where there is a lighthouse (now inoperative).

The length of the spit is about 12 km, 5 km are pushed into the Black Sea. The shoreline is shallow. The highest point is about 1.3 m.

The Bakal spit has a single road with a hard surface (local significance). It goes from the village Stereguschego to the narrowest part in the north.

Currently, the spit is gradually narrowing due to hydrological processes: powerful winter storms blur the lands of this natural object. The storms that occurred here in 2005 and 2007 have severely damaged the nature and infrastructure of the spit. Due to the active illegal extraction of sand in the summer of 2013, the Cape of Peschana has turned into a small island, which is being destroyed by waves.

Natural features of the spit

This is truly a unique place. The Bakalskaya Kosa (Crimea) is washed on all sides by different currents. Due to this, on its western coast the sea can storm, and on the east it can remain calm and warm. Each guest has a unique opportunity to choose in which sea he wants to swim.

Especially impressive are the local landscapes: on one side there is a huge lake, on the other - the picturesque Karkinitsky Gulf and the Black Sea.

Reserve

"Bakalskaya Kosa" is a unique nature reserve. It includes a spit, which gave the name of the complex, the lake of the same name with its therapeutic muds and solonchaks, the Karkinitsky Gulf, is known for its shallow depths and the purest waters.

This territory is a real paradise for everyone who wants to become healthier, to rest by the sea, to live away from noisy cities.

These picturesque places received the status of the reserve in 2000. Today, the area of the landscape park is 1520 hectares. Of these, 87 hectares of land and 100 hectares of aquacomplex are reserved for recreation. Every summer here there are tent camps, in which gather those who want to relax in such an unusual place.

Healing mud

Many tourists come to these places not only because of an unusual beach holiday. Here come people because of the healing mud, which is famous Lake Bakal. It is the third largest on the Tarkhankut Peninsula - 7.1 square kilometers. These are saline waters, estuary, brine and mud, which have a health-improving effect on the human body for various diseases - infertility, inflammation of joints, etc.

The village Stereguschee is the nearest settlement. Those who want to spend their holidays not in tents, but in more comfortable conditions, can stay here. In Steregushche there are hotels, boarding houses, recreation centers, a small market and shops. A little further are the larger resort villages - Razdolnoye and Chernomorskoye. In them, the standard of living may be higher, but from here it is longer to get to the spit.

This year the youth educational All-Russian forum "Tavrida" was held here. The Bakal Spit hosted young people from all over the country from July 2 to August 26. The forum discussed the problems of youth, education, participation of young people in the political life of the country. Guests of the forum were businessmen, politicians, scientists.

Bakalskaya spit: rest

You can relax on a spit in different ways. At its base there is a camping "Dolphin", where you can stop with a tent, and rent a wooden house. There is a platform for trailers and caravans. You can stay on the spit itself, but in this case a small fee is charged for entry to the reserve territory - for a person and a car.

Bakalskaya spit, recreation center "Volna"

This pretty place is located in the village Stereguschee, 65 km from Evpatoria. It is built almost on the beach (50 meters to the water). Its territory is 3.5 hectares.

In this place, the Black Sea shelf forms unique sandy beaches for the peninsula, which are blown by the breezes. The combination of modern design and privacy attracts tourists here. Magnificent sea air favorably affects the cardiovascular, respiratory system.

On the base you will be offered to settle in separate wooden houses designed for living, two, three or four guests. On the green and well-groomed territory there is a dining room with 500 seats. The territory of the recreation center is guarded around the clock.

"Surf"

All who want to visit the reserve "Bakalskaya Kosa", can live at the recreation center "Priboy", which occupies 6 hectares of the park.

You can come here by families or in a company of friends. For accommodation, comfortable rooms are offered in single and double-decker buildings. They are designed for two, three and four guests. All rooms have air conditioning and refrigerators.

On the shore there are summer showers, and in the base you can take a hot shower. If you need more comfortable conditions, then you can settle in houses equipped with a toilet and a shower. They are designed for two or three families. Near all buildings and houses there is free parking.

On the territory of the base there is a medical center (around the clock) where qualified staff will consult you and provide the necessary assistance. Here you can visit the massage room.

The services of tourists are industrial and vegetable markets, a cafe, a bar. And in the local travel agency you can buy a ticket to the Crimea for any route that interests you.

For lovers of outdoor activities created volleyball courts. Small holidaymakers will have a good time at the equipped playgrounds.

The beach, located at the "Wave", sandy, well-groomed. The sea is deep, but without cliffs and pits, with a smooth entrance, so it is great for families with small children.

Pension «Rubin»

The territory of the base occupies three hectares of park zone. Here, families prefer to settle in cozy rooms of a three-story building. Suites are equipped with refrigerators, TVs, air conditioning. The rooms have a bathroom. All of them have balconies. "Junior" - without a TV and air conditioning. Free parking is provided on site. Guests can board meals in the dining room or cafe (at their discretion). In the evening, you can visit the bar. If you want, you can play volleyball or basketball on the equipped grounds.
