More than three and a half decades ago, director Yevgeniy Tatarsky took a fascinating parody of an adventurous adventure genre using the Robert Louis Lewis Stevenson story series "Suicide Club" and "Diamond Rajah". Originally, the picture was called "Suicide Club, or Adventures of a Titled Person". But some at the top did not approve of it, because it was not very clear who are suicides, and who is a titled person. The whole year the film was banned for display. He came out on a wide screen only in mid-January 1981 and was called "The Adventure of Prince Florizel." The actors were just perfect. Now it is impossible to imagine another cast in this picture. Soviet parody with a touch of irony

Story line

The main character of the painting "The Adventure of Prince Florizel," whose actors were undoubtedly the stars of the screen, is Prince Bacardia Florizel (inimitable Oleg Dal). He travels around London with the faithful Colonel Geraldine (elegant in any role, Igor Dmitriev). One day they make friends with the artist Perkins (actor Askhab Abakarov). Thanks to the young man, they fall into a strange Suicide Club, led by a certain Chairman (the charismatic Donatas Banionis). Thanks to the intervention of Prince Florizel, the Club will eventually be closed. Those unfortunates who need help will get it. Unfortunately, the President will slip away. And then our heroes will fight the criminal ...

In the film there are some differences from the book of Stevenson. According to the printed edition, Florizel is the prince of Bohemia and is portrayed by the author as a somewhat plump young man. On the screen Bohemia was replaced by the invented Bacardia, the prince became a slim and elegant young man.

On the contrary, Colonel, friend and adviser of the prince, on the pages of almost the same age as Florizel. In the film, he turned into an elderly, knowledgeable person.

Brilliant acting: Prince and Colonel

Oleg Dal, who was not too spoiled with the main roles, managed to create an image of a pleasant, but bored Prince Bacardia. Because of boredom, he travels along the prudish London, trying at least somehow to entertain himself with adventures, sometimes very dangerous.

The prince is a man of honor and always keeps the word. He is an innate elegance, in every movement, word, nobility is felt.

That such a titled person was played by Oleg Dal in the film "The Adventures of Prince Florizel". The actors and roles performed by them in the film were so interesting that the love of TV viewers does not fade to them to this day.

The constant loyal companion of the prince is Colonel Geraldine. In it there is no certain lightness, recklessness of Florizel. He's too judgmental. The Colonel not only serves the prince, he is also his oldest friend, adviser and assistant. Devotion to Geraldine - this is by no means slavery and worship. He truly loves his suzerain and takes care of him every hour. This creative union justified itself on the set, in every scene Oleg Dal and Igor Dmitriev organically supplemented each other.

Brilliant actor's game: Nick Nichols and Jeannette

The main serial villain embodied Donatas Banionis on the screen. Oh, it's a lump of talent and artistry! About him you can only say "most-most." His role in this picture is the Chairman of the Club of Suicides. He is also a Cellular, he is also Nick Nichols. The character turned out to be exclusively charismatic and interesting, despite the fact that in this film he embodies the universal Evil. First Nick is a jokey joker, even a joker. But at one point it becomes a cruel killer, even a monster. When there are scenes with lace-strings on the screen, even knowing that you are sitting at home in front of the TV in a comfortable chair becomes uncomfortable.

Her heroine can click a finger to drive the mind of any representative of the strong half of humanity. She is amazingly beautiful, young and chic. Somehow, in an incomprehensible way, Jeannette combines the immediacy of a small child and vice. Most likely, it was due to the education of Nick Nichols, who once turned a kind girl into a criminal assistant for their affairs. The joint scenes of the Prince and Jeannette received high ratings of film critics.
