Atish - a waterfall of amazing beauty in Bashkortostan

The Yuzhnouralsk waterfall Atysh (how to get there, written below) is in the Beloretsk district of Bashkortostan and is considered, perhaps, the most beautiful place of this region.

From Bashkir language "atish" means "hitting", "shooting". This name is suitable for a waterfall, because it actually hits a powerful stream directly from the cliff.

Characteristics of the waterfall

Its origin of water is taken underground. Underground river Atysh, rising up to the grotto, comes to the surface, beats from the cave with an inclined stream. The width of the waterfall is 6 meters, and the height is slightly more than 4. Though it is small, it is the only one of its kind in the Urals. Thanks to this, Bashkortostan, whose waterfall Atysh is quite popular, constantly receives travelers. The mountain from which the water flows is called Yash-Kuz-Tash.

The depth of the grotto Atysh is more than 10 meters, the water washed the stones here for many millennia. Therefore, naturally, a lake was formed here. Water in it falls not only from the falls, but underground sources feed it. Filling, the lake gives life to a small streamlet, which winds down the stream to the stream of Lemes. At the foot of the mountain there is another small river - Inzer. The water in the source is always the same, like any underground creek it is cold, it has a temperature of +4 degrees.

An interesting fact: the locals call Inzer a man, he is quiet, calm. They call Lamez a woman. She is fragile, gurgling. And Atysh (waterfall) is called a "woman grumbling."

The Yash-Kuz-Tash mountain consists of limestone rocks that formed 580 million years ago. Two mountain rivers - Atysh and Agui - have struck in the limestone caves, many of which are now flooded with water.

Natural objects

Atysh is a waterfall, which is a complex natural reserve. In addition to the most natural object, caves and grottos, underground channels and other karst forms of relief have significance here. The flora and fauna of this place also has a special role. Rare plants and some representatives of the animal world that live here are under protection.

The most interesting can seem to be the Reserve Cave; Its length is about 180 meters. In it, skulls of bears were found . However, they "knit" with the walls of the cave because of the accumulation of accumulation. This place was formed even at the time when the river valley appeared.
