Tertiary syphilis

Syphilis is a chronic venereal disease, in the overwhelming majority of cases, infection occurs through sexual contact, however, it is quite possible and the means of transmission of the pathogen. Symptoms of this severe illness then arise, then again disappear temporarily, but so far there is no way to complete cure. Pale treponema is a microorganism that is the causative agent of syphilis. Once in the lymph nodes, it is carried with the current of blood through the body. The duration of the incubation period is from three to six weeks. Then follows syphilis primary. First, at the place where there was contact with the source of infection, there is a circular ulcer, dense, not causing pain and not bleeding, the diameter of which can vary from half a centimeter to two centimeters. The middle of the ulcer is slightly concave, and its edges are raised (saucer-like), the color is purple-red, resembling a blood soaked in meat, or dull-pale orange, similar to the color of a spoiled piece of fat, and a dense electrostatic infiltrate is prominent. This ulcer is called a hard chancre, and it is the first messenger of syphilis. Lymph nodes in the area where there was contact with the source of infection, increase. It is difficult to diagnose that these signs may not be visible. For example, they can appear on the walls of the vagina. With oral sex, chancroid can appear in the mouth and anus in homosexuals. However, in some cases, ulcers appear and in those places that were not exposed to the source of infection, and in this case we are talking about the estragenital arrangement of external symptoms. These are all signs that a person has syphilis primary . Ulcers are most often found singly, less often - piles.

In women, syphilis primary also manifests as an inductive edema on the labia, in men - on the foreskin or scrotum. In other words, places rich in lymphatic vessels are affected . The tissues of these organs are densified, their puffiness is clear. Syphilis primary can be complicated by the fact that the second infection is attached to a painful process. If the infection falls on the amygdala, an angina-like or ulcerative form of the disease may form.

With secondary syphilis, the patient's temperature rises with the beginning of aches in joints, bones, headache and lack of appetite. There is a spotted rash, hair falls out in large quantities, leaving a bald spot. Since the rash can take a variety of forms, secondary syphilis can be confused with dermatitis or other diseases. At this stage, syphilitic myocarditis occurs, a complication affecting the heart.

If at this stage to confuse a terrible venereal disease with some other or leave without treatment, syphilis begins tertiary. At this stage, syphilis can not be confused with anything. The skin is covered with gammas - large knots, sometimes reaching the size of a chicken egg, and tubercles - smaller gum formations. Gumma sprouts, then bursts, growing into an open ulcer, from which the pus is extracted. The skin around such formations becomes bluish-red. These formations can for years remain on the patient's body. Syphilis tertiary can incredibly disfigure the entire body of a person, including his face. Ulcers can reach the bones, hitting them with the course of the disease, wrinkle the skin, which radically changes in color. If a person on the face instead of the nose like a hollow - he has a tertiary syphilis, and the cavity was formed from the fact that one of the hums struck the nose and "ate" the bones of the nose. The face can appear like holes, through which you can see the teeth and even part of the skull. Syphilis tertiary is a defeat by triponemes, spread across the body, of all life systems without exception. Acute, inexpressible pain is constantly tortured by those suffering from this disease. On the other hand, the skin and tissues can so lose sensitivity that a patient who has tertiary syphilis can not feel anything, even if his body touches a hot iron. Exacerbations - meningitis, hepatitis, strokes are possible. Syphilis is tertiary, if not treated, can cause unbelievable torment for many years. And, in the end, this chain of complications and organ damage can be cut short by death.

Tertiary syphilis, affecting the nervous system, destroys the human psyche and intellect. Such a patient can manifest a violent joy or, conversely, fall into depression or extreme irritation, his sexual attraction can at times increase dramatically, like his appetite, disability disappears, in speech there sometimes appears something completely atypical and senseless, often accompanied by a selective Abuse and curses. A person simply goes insane, signs of dementia and other mental ailments begin. Tertiary syphilis, disfiguring the human body, destroying the mind and psyche, takes his life.
