How to remove paint from clothes: options for solutions
Many, of course, know this problem. Every once in a while, yes I've been in a similar situation. It's good if the clothes are not new or homely. It's not so pitiful to throw it away. And if you were lucky to "get in" in the newly bought fashion jeans? Or is the stain left on your favorite dress? What to do? Do not throw away after all. Do not worry, we will tell you in detail how to remove the paint from clothes, how to get rid of this trouble.
Of course, removing the stain is easier if it is fresh, that is, less than 3 hours have passed. Take detergent (suitable also for laundry soap) and wash the stain. The following method can help: moisten the area of contamination with a cotton swab impregnated with turpentine or gasoline, then wipe with ammonia until the paint comes off. If the oil trails are old, withered, you will have to work harder.
- solvent for paint (it will most likely get rid of the oil stain);
- bleach (if the contamination was on a white cloth, then this tool will help remove traces);
- white clay (used together with gasoline, the mixture is superimposed on the stain, then the clay is simply scraped off);
- refined gasoline (it is better to mix with acetone);
- ammonia (they handle the contamination site after using other solvents, you need to be careful in applying, since it can affect the color of the tissue);
- glycerin (in hot form, they also remove paint stains );
- turpentine (it will help to remove paint from clothes, as it is able to dissolve oils and fats);
- Acetone (apply to cotton wool, treat the stain from the edge to the middle, do not use for synthetic or leather);
- Sunflower oil (will help soften the stain, the only remedy that is used for contamination of cashmere, wool, drape).
Removing paint - this, of course, is a troublesome business, but do not panic. Before you start, try scraping a hard layer of paint with a sharp knife or blade. Be careful not to damage the fabric. And only after removing the top layer, apply one of the methods outlined above. If you do not have the time or desire to deal with this problem yourself, contact a dry cleaner, trust the experts.
