Subcutaneous mite on the face

The subcutaneous tick is a parasite, about 0.2-0.4 millimeters in size, which parasitizes under the human skin. For the place of their habit the mite selects sebaceous glands, hair follicles. Sometimes a tick spreads in the area of the eyelashes and eyebrows. A subcutaneous tick is often seen on the face. Typically, the mite affects the oily skin of adolescents. Before the period of puberty, the sebaceous glands of a person do not function, and after this period, thanks to the developing sex hormones, the glands intensively begin their work. This is the cause of oily skin in adolescence. A subcutaneous mite on the face may appear on healthy skin. This can happen if the skin contains a large amount of subcutaneous fat.

In the event that the fat of the sebaceous glands disappears and the tick becomes unhealthy, it will disappear by itself without any treatment. But if for a long time the skin remains oily, the tick will multiply with greater intensity. Consequently, the struggle against it will require considerable effort.

A subcutaneous tick on the face can affect eyelids, eyebrows, forehead, nasolabial folds, chin, ears. Less often the parasite suffers from the chest and back.

It is dangerous that the products of vital activity produced by the tick are a very strong allergen, which quite often becomes one of the factors of skin infection. Demodecosis is a disease that causes a subcutaneous tick in a person.

Symptoms of the disease are as follows: the appearance on the skin of pink acne, seborrhea, inflammation and redness of the eyelids, a strong unbearable itch. Over time, the symptoms of the disease increase, and in addition to the main signs, there may be abundant lacrimation, sensation of a foreign object in the eyes, redness of the eyes, loss of eyelashes and the formation of white scales. However, at first, the subcutaneous tick can not cause any symptoms or cause slight eye irritation. It is dangerous that as a result of parasitization of the tick, demodectic blepharitis and blepharoconjunctivitis can occur, affecting the eyes and having a specific character.

Subcutaneous mite on the face occurs more often in children suffering from diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, lungs and farsightedness. Also the most susceptible to this disease are people with weakened immunity, trichomoniasis, metabolic disorders. Since in the elderly, the protective properties of the body are significantly reduced, this age group is more inclined to this disease.

Demodecosis is a chronic illness that periodically exacerbates. Usually, the exacerbations are seasonal in nature and occur in spring and autumn.

How to cure a subcutaneous mite?

There are several methods of fighting this disease, but the methods of treating the disease should be determined and prescribed by a dermatologist. Treatment of demodicosis should be carried out in a complex manner.
