Shojze - what is this? Genre anime sejo (romance and comedy)

Beautiful stories that conquer their sincere innocence, charming fairy reality and often act as experienced mentors in difficult life situations. Probably, this is how you can briefly describe the whole genre of shoji. But still, in order to fully understand and find out how much this whole direction in itself stores, you need to dig a little deeper and learn more about its meaning and history.

Shoedze - what is it and why does it attract so much attention?

This word, so unusual and mysterious for most people who are in no way or very distantly connected with the Asian world, is in fact very specific and characteristic. To be more precise, in literal translation from Japanese the word "Sejo", borrowed from the Chinese language in the 7th century, means "girl, virgin". But if in China this term was applied to more adult and mature representatives of the weaker sex and their age ranged from 17 to 29 years, in Japan this indicator was much lower, from 7 to 18 years. Although now this word began to refer to all girls who have not yet reached the age of 20.

What does the shзеjo genre carry in itself and to whom will it be of interest?

As it was written earlier, the word "shoze" means "girl", and, based on this, anime and manga, written and created in this genre, are intended for young girls 12-18 years old.

If we talk about the story, then whether it's a full-length serial animated series or a one-volume painted manga, in the center of the story there is always a young girl or a young girl, a student of middle or high school. The struggle with our own complexes, the resolution of family conflicts, the desire to make real friends, our own growing up, and also the search for our beautiful and unique prince - that's probably the main problems and hopes of all the charming heroines of mangas and anime sejo.

The central characters. Who are they?

The main character most often appears before the audience (readers) in the image of a sweet, inexperienced and good princess. Embarrassment and constant heart torment are the inalienable allies of almost every girl. The guys here in most cases represent the opposite of their beloved and girlfriends. They are popular, bold, sometimes perverted and insanely charismatic. Heroes, as a rule, are more beautiful than heroines, and some even have so effeminate and charming appearance that they attract much more male attention than girls themselves. But, despite all this, each of them is always ready to come to the aid of his beloved and, without fear, to protect her from any misfortunes.

Of course, this is only part of all that really are the main characters of the shoji. Many other stories can have characters completely different from these. Therefore, in order to know what else they are and how different from each other, you need to independently look and read works.

History of occurrence

For the first time the manga sejze became known due to the fact that the popular magazine "The World of the Girl" began to print in its editions a simple one-page story (manga). Such an experiment proved to be very successful, and by the thirties the most of the magazines that were published at that time could not do without permanent pages devoted to comic and light comic books.

However, very soon, when the world was stunned by a new wave of cruelty and World War II began, almost all the comics were removed from the press, because they were considered too frivolous and open. But, fortunately, some time after such difficult events, the manga again began appearing on the pages of many printed publications in the same form as before the war. Although it lasted not very long. Soon, thanks to the zeal and skill of the talented creator Osama Tezuka, small single-type and simple stories acquired a full-fledged plot and their own special characteristics. Also this person put a lot of effort into the subsequent creation of the anime direction.

The period when the beloved maiden genre, shoedze, romance manifested itself in full

Despite the fact that this kind of comics was created for girls, the authors of all the stories written before the 60s were exclusively men. True, many of them treated this work as a temporary one and wished to move from this direction to syonen, intended for boys. But, despite all this, the authors wrote good and interesting stories that were intended for readers of very young age who had not yet reached adolescence. And since the age of the girls did not allow anything too adult, in their works the mangaki talked about simple and understandable family problems, school, friends. Of course, there were wonderful and kind princes here, but no special romance was observed.

Everything began to change with the arrival of women's manga in the world. The first of those who ventured and changed the usual style of presentation, and then opened new horizons, filled with love motives, was Yoshiko Nishitani. After her debut, most of the manga for girls acquired a more adult and romantic shade and became very popular among older girls. It was a turning point in the Shoji. What did this mean personally for the authors of this genre? The opportunity for women to realize their potential and pushing men into another, youthful style.

Boom Shisee and the beginning of the animation

1966 was the year when all the fans of the manga could see some of their favorite heroes no longer on paper, in black and white, but in a bright palette, movement and life. Because it was then that the first anime in history was released, which was shot on the same comics for girls - "The Witch Sally". In addition, it was not just an ordinary cartoon for girls, but a unique and fascinating picture, based on such a genre as the Maho-Sejo. Comics of this plan, just like the usual manga, were designed for a girls' audience, but they did not talk about simple schoolgirls and girls, but about sorceresses endowed with unique abilities and fighting for good and justice.

And while the creators introduce the audience to a new kind of cartoon called anime, shoedze-romance In the manga continues to gain momentum. Female authors by that time became very popular and some of them even formed their own "Union of 24 years" (the name is related to the dates of their birth). Each time, more and more stories appeared with different story lines and forms. It was this union that managed to bring the shзе наибольe the greatest popularity and create completely new, unlike other genres.

The beginning of more frankness

"Union 24" made its significant contribution and initiated the development of such a comic book as syonen-ay. These are stories telling about romantic relationships between guys. Despite a rather specific theme, this genre has managed to win the sympathy of so many.

Also after a certain time in the world for girls there were such novelties as manga and anime genre of shodez-ay. This type of stories was basically the same theme of same-sex love, which was revealed in syonen-ay, but instead of loving each other young men here in the center of the plot are relations between the girls. Since then, the popularity of such topics with each year only gaining momentum. They have long been an integral part of the Shoji. What can this mean for the readers, besides getting more and more interesting stories? For everyone, the answer will be theirs.

The special attractiveness of the shoji

Even after many years, although there were more frank and adult genres, this kind of comics and anime for many remains favorite and native. After all, despite all the simplicity and childlike simplicity, these stories carry a lot of positive, beautiful and even a significant share of important morality. And if you ask yourself why the shoze genre has appeared (which you already know now), then the answer is simple - because it is real, interesting and instructive.
