Scientists have learned how to collect a cube-rubik for 20 moves

Surely everyone knows a famous puzzle from childhood, named after its creator Erno Rubik. Quite quickly it gained popularity and reached the most remote corners of the planet.

Without the proper skill to fold the puzzle will not work, even after doing a hundred manipulations, but more recently, experts from Google Inc. Learned how to collect a cube-rubik for 20 moves. This phenomenal result they managed to achieve with the help of a computer, which was given the task - to analyze all possible combinations.

Where did the cube Rubik

Back in 1974, the Hungarian architect and teacher at the Academy of Applied Arts Erno Rubik thought about the optimal way of understanding three-dimensional space.

He wanted a new invention to help students in the study of the world, and one day he came up with the sensational idea - to create a puzzle. The task, it would seem, is elementary - to rotate the rows of the cube until each side becomes one-color. But the assembly scheme of the Rubik's cube is not so simple and can take up to several hours, even without results. Students appreciated the interesting invention and were carried away by a new toy. At that time, the creator did not even suspect that after many years scientists will rack their brains by solving a puzzle until they figure out how to assemble a Rubik's cube in 20 moves.

How came the worldwide popularity

Initially, the original toy was not a popular one among investors. It was believed that its production would not be profitable, since the assembly of the Rubik's cube may be of interest only to intellectuals. Nevertheless, one small company decided to invest in this unusual project, and the puzzle was conquered by Budapest.

A few years later Tibor Lakzi, an intermediary of one of the German firms, having arrived in the city, became interested in the original puzzle, which at that time was very popular among the townspeople. Realizing that the spread of an amazing invention around the world can bring huge profits, he decided to promote the cube-rubik. For novice businessmen Lakzi and Rubik, the main difficulty was the search for investors. But thanks to the economic education of Tibor and its commercial vein, the owner of the company, Seven Towns Ltd, Tom Kremer, was soon brought to the project. He took up large-scale production and distribution, which helped the cube to become popular all over the world.

"Algorithm of God"

Since 1982, in many countries there are regularly competitions, in which the main task of the participants is the rapid assembly of the Rubik's cube. In order to solve the puzzle as quickly as possible, it is not enough just to have good dexterity and ingenuity. Man should be aware of the optimal assembly scheme of the Rubik's cube, allowing to spend as little effort as possible. The minimum number of steps necessary to solve the task is "Algorithm of God".

Many scientists and simple amateurs tried to find a solution. At one time it was believed that the minimum number of steps from any position was 18, but later this theory was disproved. It took many years to find the optimal sequence, and only in 2010 the scientists managed to learn how to assemble a Rubik's cube in 20 moves, regardless of the position in which the puzzle was before the assembly. At present, this is an absolute record.

Who is faster - a car or a person?

At the moment, the fastest of the people is the American schoolboy Colin Burns - he managed to solve the puzzle in less than 5.5 seconds. And the robot, assembled by British engineers from the details of the designer Lego Mindstorm EV3, coped with this task for 3,253 seconds. The advantage of the mechanism is not only that the work of all its details is more coordinated than the actions of a person. Scientists gave him as many as 4 hands, which allow you to perform all the operations in 2 times faster.

How to learn to collect it

There is not one standard scheme of the Rubik's cube, allowing in a short time to learn how to solve this original puzzle. Various assembly systems allow you to differently approach the issue. Which one to choose is up to you. Of course, it's unlikely that without the computer capacity of Google you will learn how to collect a Rubik's cube in 20 moves, but to find simple solutions in a short time will learn. The main thing is that you have enough assiduity. No technique can help solve the puzzle without problems, if you are not ready to spend your valuable time for training.

But all your time to give this toy is not worth it. Doctors noted an increase in the number of patients in psychiatric clinics after the appearance of the Rubik's cube. And traumatologists began to come across regular symptoms, later called "Rubik's syndrome". It appears as sharp pains in the wrists.

Assembly diagram

There are several schemes that allow beginners to quickly learn how to add a Rubik's cube. One of them is attached to this article:

  1. First you need to collect a cross, the ends of which have a continuation on the neighboring faces. There is no universal methodology - everything comes with practice.
  2. Next, you need to complete the whole side on which the cross was assembled, and assemble the belt from the parts around it. It is important to ensure that each belt is one-color.
  3. Now you need to collect the second belt and move to the opposite side of the cube.
  4. We collect the cross on this side in the same way as in the very beginning.
  5. We finish the whole party.
  6. Now we put in order the corners of the cube - we make it so that the colors on them correspond to the colors of the sides to which they are turned.
  7. It remains only to rotate the parts correctly, having only 2 sides. The cube is assembled.

Now you can also learn to solve one of the most popular puzzles in the world. In this you will help the universal scheme of the Rubik's cube.
