The Baikal skullcap is a herbaceous plant, its height is from 15 to 35 centimeters. In medicine, the root of this plant is mainly used, it is a part of such preparations as "Kvainery", "Alfa 20S", "Slim Caps" and many others. The Baikal skullcap has flowers that are located only on one side of the stem, and their coronas are like a helmet. That is why the plant got its name.

This plant loves stony slopes and is located on the banks of rivers. In its roots there are glycosides, vakhonin and baikalite, essential oil, tannins, starch, asteroid saponins, alkaloids, resins. During flowering, their number decreases, and during the ripening of the fruit reaches its maximum. The larger the plant, the more active substances it contains.

Procession of the rhizome is carried out in autumn and spring. After the roots are dug, they are cleaned of dirt and dried. Apply in raw form, you can also fry them or put out in wine.

Tincture of the sculler is also used in the presence of increased excitability. It restores sleep, relieves pain in the region of the heart and headaches.
