Saving space in the kitchen

It often happens that our quite natural desires do not correspond to our capabilities. For example, everyone wants to live in a spacious dwelling, or even better - in his small house on the nature. But often it happens that there is not enough space and it is necessary to get out as much as possible. One of the places where we often have to be and at the same time, strangely enough, one of the closest in the apartment is the kitchen. Someone may think of a tight area of 12 m2, but one often has to face the fact that a place for a cooking zone is some 4-6 squares! And here begins the struggle for every centimeter of space. In the course there is everything - narrow kitchen cabinets, a minimum of furniture, folding and sliding tables ... In this article we will try to suggest how you can win several precious centimeters with the help of compact household appliances.

1. Hob.

It is unlikely that any kitchen can do without a stove. Most of us still prefer to eat heat-treated food and we do it with a plate. An ordinary slab occupies 50-60 cm in width. And the place on the table top is strictly limited. Therefore, you can install a compact cooking surface for 1-2-3 burners. Three-burner options are usually 45 cm, and 1-2x have a width of only 30 cm! This allows us to win up to 30 cm of desktop space (and this is half the kitchen cabinet). At the same time, if you do not cook often and in large quantities, you will not lose anything, because such a reduced unit has the same functions as full-size brothers.

A pair of hotplates will suffice for most cases.

2. The oven.

If you do not like to cook, then you can go for a serious measure and abandon the oven. If this output is unacceptable, then you will need to install the oven. Its standard width is 60 cm, which is slightly larger than a narrow slab. But you can find more narrow versions, for example, a width of 45 cm (together with a kitchen cabinet, in which it will be built in).

In this round, we won up to 15 cm of space (1 bottle or a larger kitchen module, for example, a desktop that does not often happen!).

3. Extractor.

Probably, no less popular kitchen appliances is the hood. In the case of her, the difference with the installation or not is insignificant. The most compact of the hoods are built-in. Very few of them differ in the standard hoods. Both of them will slightly protrude under the hinged kitchen element, but occupy a lot of space. If you install carbon filters in such an extract, then you can do without eating a lot of space in the pipe, diverting air to the ventilation shaft. If you install a detailed device, it will take about a third of the hinged element height of 70 cm. If you install a pipe that diverts air, there will be very little space left in the locker. However. It is possible to completely abandon such a device.

4. The dishwasher.

Few of us like to wash dishes. But this household necessity can not be avoided anywhere. A dishwasher can release this routine. However, the question immediately arises: when the desire to save space leads to a struggle for every 5-10 cm, does the installation of the dishwasher erase all the results achieved? Of course, I want to have this kind of equipment at home. But the area does not allow you to install one more unit ... Do not hurry to give up! The solution is in this case: you can install a compact dishwasher for 6 sets.

It does not take much space - just slightly more than half the kitchen table (44 cm in height). At the same time it will be completely invisible, hidden behind the facade, put on its door. The truth in width, it will take 55 cm. If this is critical, you can take an ordinary dishwasher with a width of 45 cm. At this point, we did not win extra centimeters, but. Perhaps, they were able to place in the kitchen one more unit of useful equipment.

5. Refrigerator.

You will be surprised, why so long we pulled with the lighting of the most spacious inhabitant of the kitchen, without which it will not work at all. We decided that despite its outstanding dimensions in all directions, this element is mandatory in any kitchen, so it's a little postponed its coverage. The refrigerator often occupies all space up to the ceiling. The width of even the smallest refrigerators is not much different from 60 cm, so we will have to reconcile with this figure. The depth is the same. The only parameter that we can reduce is the height. But here we can choose from a wide range: from very miniature refrigeration chambers to two-meter talls. The volume of cameras you can estimate based on your current experience. Maybe you will only need a one-chamber version, which does not require the presence of a freezer. If you decide to install a compact refrigerator, you can supplement it with one more kitchen cabinet. And you can organize an embedded solution when your refrigerator is neatly placed in a high pencil case, keeping its width at 60 cm!

6. Microwave.

One of the most popular elements in the kitchen is a microwave oven. Although it is intended for cooking, but the vast majority of people use it for one simple function - fast heating food. It is used less often for defrosting products. Given the above, you can safely do not chase the additional features like grills, convection and other - most likely these functions will be tested a couple of times out of curiosity, and then the device will continue to simply warm up your lunches. A lot of people buy a microwave despite the modest size of the kitchen. Save space in this case, you can take a microwave oven of a small volume. For example, 17 liters. That it does not occupy space on the table, you can hang it on the bracket directly under the hanging lockers. Or use the built-in solution. By the way, there are ovens, which, in addition to the main function - the function of microwave.

7. Washing machine.

Perhaps the washing machine is not very relevant to the kitchen technique, but sometimes it happens that in the bathroom it can not be placed. The water supply except the last one is available only in the kitchen, which leads to the installation of a washing machine in the kitchen. And here, most likely, the embedded options will not allow us to win spaces: they have dimensions of about 60 * 60 * 85, that is, they occupy the entire space under the table top. To save space, you can install a narrow washing machine with a width of only 30 cm!
