Safe mode for running Firefox

In the new 2013-th year, the well-known Sberbank of Russia switched to servicing through the online system, i.e. Web site. On it, customers can perform quite a few different basic functions, such as viewing their accounts, working with money documents and so on.

Undoubtedly, this innovation has many advantages, but there are some disadvantages. One of them is that such a system is not always able to install the necessary driver for a USB key. To continue normal operation, you need to perform the installation yourself, having previously downloaded the required driver from the official Windows OS site. It can also issue an Internet Explorer error after specifying to print an important payment document.

Therefore, representatives of the bank came up with a way out: to use the Firefox browser version 3 and above, which has a secure mode. Currently, programmers are already working on the 23rd version, so there should not be any difficulties. But the problem is that after installation, Mozilla may simply not run in Windows XP. That is, if you double-click on the shortcut, the task manager will be visible in the task manager , but the application will not show any other actions.

The solution may be to disable all extensions that interfere with the normal operation of the Firefox browser. Safe mode should run the application, which you must first remove from the list of running processes in the Task Manager.

You need to go to the main menu, and from it - to the directory "Mozilla Firefox" and select a special item Firefox Safe Mode. If this folder is missing, the "Run" instruction is selected from the main menu, and the "C: \ Program Files \ Mozilla Firefox \ firefox.exe" -safe-mode command is inserted. After this, the user enters safe mode.

When using secure mode, the browser uses a standard theme for registration, and disables the use of extensions. Also, you can independently abandon the additions from the sub-item "Tools", where in a separate window you can remove the checkmarks or vice versa - put in problematic places. Leaving only the most necessary, the browser will work better in normal mode.

Safe mode is not always necessary, it is enough just to create a new profile to get rid of problems in hang, long loading of Internet pages and other things. To use this feature, you need to add the prefix -p to the standard command. In the user selection window, the "New" key is pressed and a specific name is given.

Only in the most extreme cases, when even a safe mode does not solve the problem, the browser is completely reinstalled or replaced with a later version. Mozilla can stop working for several reasons. For example, with the destructive actions of viruses, the harmful work of additional plug-ins, because of incompatibility problems with the system, and so on.

Another way to start safe mode can be to configure the launch shortcut. To do this, go to its properties and add a safe-mode command to the executable file. After Firefox starts, an additional window appears, where the user agrees with the proposed mode or exits.

To date, Mozilla Firefox is considered one of the most common and stable software products in the world, so do not give up on it when there are any small difficulties.
