Remembering the thoughts of the wise about life

Sometimes a simple phrase is enough, spoken in time to change not only the mood, but also the life of a person. The thoughts of the wise about life are truly a priceless treasure. Once a 50-year-old woman, disbelieving in people, love and her own destiny, told her bitter heart to her 30-year-old colleague. "I'm going crazy, I do not know how to live on!" - this was the leitmotif of the confession. What could a friend who was suitable for her in her daughter advise? "You know," she said. - It is said that on the ring of King Solomon there was a short inscription: "And it will pass ...". Surprisingly, the older friend brightened her face and thanked the companion with all her heart. It was obvious that she instantly calmed down.

What did she read between the lines of this phrase? Apparently, sometimes the thoughts of the wise about life are answered by some of our questions, which we can not formulate. Sometimes they are consonant with the momentary mood or in a brief, aphoristic form express the quintessence of our world view. It seems that the philosopher, writer or scientist simply "took off our language" our thought about this or that phenomenon, event, concept. It's just that you yourself could not express yourself so finely and gracefully, and therefore, in the moment of getting acquainted with a short masterpiece, you are delighted and willing to share your new knowledge with other people.

Sometimes the thoughts of the wise about life help to survive in a difficult struggle. After the extremely difficult period that fell to our lot, we see through with Friedrich Nietzsche that what has not killed us has certainly made us stronger. But in a different way, the idea that we are making ourselves happy is sounded. It was formulated by the romantic writer Remarque: "Man is stronger than his fate, yet he does not surrender." Immediately remembered replicated in the office frog from the fable, battling for his life in a milk box and whipped butter.

Often the thoughts of wise people about life are full of hidden irony. How wonderful, with a subtle British humor, was noticed by Winston Churchill: "Success is the ability to move from one failure to another without losing enthusiasm." And here is a typical comic of Americans. The ability to laugh at your problems is capable of anyone adjusting to a positive mood. "I did not lose. I just found 10,000 ways that did not work, "- writes the father of the electric bulb Thomas Edison. As the Frenchman Victor Hugo said: "Freedom begins with irony."

In the pre-Internet era, we rewrote each other's wise thoughts about life. Quotes about love alternated in our songbooks and questionnaires with quotations about friendship, honor and success.

  • To reach the goal, you just need to go (Honore de Balzac).
  • It's kind of fun - to do the impossible (Walt Disney).
  • No one can make you feel inferior without your consent (Eleanor Roosevelt).

Some thoughts of the wise about life have lost their author and are quoted as proverbs. But these statements help us to understand the world around us, to learn to exist in it. "If you have 100 reasons to cry, find 1000 reasons to smile." "Do not let the past steal your present."

Of course, wisdom is a state of mind acquired over a period of time as a result of personal experience, and not an inborn quality. However, this is not a reason to refuse to study the real treasure - the statements of intelligent people about the meaning of life and other important things.
