Purple spider web - mushroom with exotic coloring

The purple spider web is a rare and very interesting mushroom. Its color is very unusual. Thanks to her, this macromycete has this name (Cortinarius violaceus). Spiderweb is a mushroom, which was popularly called an eater for the fact that it can often be found near the swamps. In Belarus, it is called fat. Connoisseurs consider this macromycet a delicacy. Mushrooms spider webs are edible. They have average taste qualities, but they can be marinated, salted, stewed, fried, and used for cooking other dishes. However, try this mushroom is not so often due to the fact that it is very rare.

Description

Spiderweb is a fungus that has a radial fibrous finely scaled cap of a pillow-convex shape. Its maximum diameter is 15 cm. The edges of the cap can be curved downwards or simply dropped. By maturity, it becomes more flat. The hat has a dark purple color, as well as a soft, thick, bluish pulp with a faint odor of cedarwood. Over time, it often fades to a practically white hue. The flesh has a nutty taste. The plates of the macromycete are dark purple, but over time, a rusty-brown tint may appear on them. They are rare, descending on the stem. Spores are warty, elliptical, unequal. The powder is rusty-brown. Macromycete has a dense dark purple leg. At its base there is a tuberous thickening. On the foot there are traces of a cobweb. Habitat

Spiderweb is a fungus that can grow in small groups, but, as a rule, it settles alone. Due to the fact that the purple hump has a fairly low yield and does not bear fruit irregularly, it was added to the Red Book of the Russian Federation. This macromycete can grow only under strictly defined weather and climatic conditions. It is mycorrhizal. The violet arachnoid has a symbiotic relationship with various tree species, both deciduous and coniferous (birch, beech, pine, oak, spruce, hornbeam). Therefore, a basin can be found in forest tracts of almost all types, but most often it occurs in birch forests. Spiderweb is a fungus that fructifies between August and October. Macromycete prefers to settle on acid humus soils. It can also be found on mossy substrates near the sphagnum marshes. This macromycete occurs in European countries, in Russia, in New Guinea and North America.

Doubles

On other varieties of cobwebs, this mushroom is rarely similar. But there are exceptions. It can be confused with a goat spider web, which is inedible, but is not at all dangerous for health. This fungus can be found in coniferous forests and in the foothills. It has a strong and sharp unpleasant odor. Another fat woman in appearance sometimes resembles an inedible camphor spider web. At a young age, the fungus can also be confused with a purple ryadovkoy (edible).
