Prevention of sexually transmitted diseases

Venereal diseases are diseases caused by viruses, bacteria, parasites or fungi, the bulk of which is transmitted through unprotected intercourse. And the infection can occur with any kind of sexual contact. It is established that the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases from a man to a woman is much easier than from a woman to a man. The reason for this is a large surface area (the vaginal mucosa) through which the virus enters the body. Also, a woman runs the risk of being infected with a venereal disease: in the presence of erosion of the cervix, during menstruation, with a complete rupture of the hymen, with ransom on the mucous membrane.

The fact that there is no immunity against venereal diseases makes one involuntarily think that absolutely every person is exposed to the danger of being infected. The only way out is the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases.

Since sexually transmitted diseases have been spreading at a tremendous rate over the past decade, many specialists have begun to work hard not only to find their cure, but also to prevent them.

Prevention of sexually transmitted diseases includes various activities, the main place among which is compliance with the rules of sexual life. The constant change of partners and the reluctance to use contraceptives significantly increase the chance of contracting sexually transmitted diseases. But it should be borne in mind that in addition to complications that are amenable to treatment, the result of a venereal disease can be a lethal outcome. In addition, many diseases do not have visible signs that would indicate their presence. Therefore, even if a person does not have a clear picture of the disease or is absent altogether, it is necessary to be reinsured and at least once every six months to undergo a preventive examination.

It is also necessary to know that the prevention of these diseases should be performed not before the sexual act, but before it. After all, by carrying out some measures to protect your body, you can protect yourself from unnecessary problems.

Vinetic diseases: how to avoid their appearance

  1. Do not go for intimacy with people you do not know well. After all, there is no guarantee that a very well-dressed woman or man will be healthy. In addition, even a person can be sure that he is not sick, as, as already mentioned above, most diseases occur without the presence of symptoms.
  2. If you still need to have sex, then be sure to use the most effective means for the prevention of all sexually transmitted diseases - a condom. But it is necessary to take into account also that when it slips or damages the efficiency of protection decreases several times.
  3. Also be on your guard if your partner, even if it is permanent and already tested, refers to the so-called "risk group" - those who have contact with the blood of strangers. This group includes: nurses, doctors, laboratory assistants and people who have undergone blood transfusion.
  4. Do not forget that taking intravenous drugs also leads to the risk of developing venereal diseases. Therefore, if you notice any signs from your alleged partner of injections in the groin or on the forearm, then be sure to use a condom.
  5. Also, there are many contraceptives that can protect against infection. After all, almost all of them are endowed with antiseptic action, and this helps to destroy a number of diseases.
  6. If you have several sexual partners, you can use hormonal drugs in combination with chemical or barrier methods of contraception. For their best selection is to contact a doctor.
  7. Prevention of sexually transmitted diseases is, first of all, observance of the rules of personal hygiene. Therefore, never use anybody else's towel, no scouring pads, not to mention razor and undergarments.
  8. If, nevertheless, you had an unforeseen sexual contact, and even without the means of contraception (condom), then, if possible, immediately treat the sexual organs with an antiseptic solution. It will help in a literal sense to stop the pathogens of infection, not allowing them to get to the place of "appointment".

As a result of all of the above: prevention of sexually transmitted diseases - this is the only way to protect yourself from unnecessary problems with health.
