Practical pistol shooting: training, safety. Sports pistol. The Makarov pistol

There are questions - why do we need practical pistol shooting, what is different from other shooting sports? It officially exists more than 3 years. It was created as a methodology or set of criteria for assessing the effectiveness of fighters and soon became an entertaining and multifaceted sport.

What is practical pistol shooting?

Now it is spread all over the world and is gaining great popularity as a sporting hobby that gathers a lot of sportsmen for competitions, and applied discipline in special divisions. Also methods, like shooting a pistol, are used to teach self-defense with weapons.

Practical shooting originated in California in the 50's. After a few years, it quickly spread to other continents. The International Confederation of Practical Shooting (IPSC) was founded in 1976. The motto of this discipline: accuracy - power - speed. The first component is counted by the number of points; The second - the use of higher-power weapons adds a greater number of points awarded for hit in the target's target areas; The third is the time from the initial signal to the last shot.

Security

Much attention is paid to shooting safety. It is provided by the control over the location of the weapon, in addition, competitors and spectators must use the protection of the organs of sight and hearing. For shooting, only perfectly serviceable weapons are allowed. For violation of security conditions, the only sanction is determined - disqualification.

The three main IPSC rules that every athlete and shooter are familiar with, the student practicing in the dash, is called the Code of the arrow:

  • The weapon is always loaded. In any scenario, any weapon must be handled as loaded.
  • To direct weapons only to where the shot will be. The pistol in the holster, the gun - the barrel up in the hand.
  • The finger falls on the trigger only when the target is visible in the sighting devices.

Weapons in Practical Shooting

Practical shooting uses three types of weapons, respectively, they have a sports pistol, a rifle and a rifle. Competitions are held for each individual or for all disciplines - triathlon.

All kinds are divided into classes. For example, shooting from a pneumatic gun is divided into the following: serial, classic, standard, open, modified.

Practical shooting is considered a hobby that is available for any age and sex, therefore, in addition to the "regular" category of athletes, "ladies", "junior", "senor" and "supersenor" are defined.

Which gun to choose?

During training and competitions, various models of pistols are used. The existing sports pneumatics are distinguished by a variety of models. The choice should be in accordance with the preferences of the shooter and the recommendation of the coach.

There are several signs that athletes pay attention to when they choose a sports pistol:

  • Weight - should not be more than one and a half kilograms;
  • Shape of the handle - should be conveniently located in the hand, do not slide;
  • Behavior during shooting - since guns shoot bullets at high speed, it is important that the design of the weapon extinguishes the shocks;
  • Presence of sight;
  • Trigger mechanism - it is important that the adjustment is as simple as possible.

Each instruction pistol must be accompanied by an instruction so that, without the help of a coach, a newcomer will be able to deal with the weapon.

The Makarov pistol

This weapon was developed in 1948 in connection with the requirement of the army of the USSR to create a pistol for the composition of officers. It differs from the predecessor with greater safety, compactness and stopping the action of the bullet. To achieve this goal, a 9 mm cartridge was first created.

In addition to Russia, the PM pistol was manufactured under license in Germany, China and Bulgaria. During the period of the release of weapons, manufacturability of production was significantly improved. Also in Tula in the 1960s, work was carried out to facilitate the pistol by creating a frame made of plastic and light alloys. This option showed fairly good results, but was not adopted.

Peculiarities of the Makarov pistol

PM distinguishes small size, exceptional reliability and ease of maintenance and operation. But at the same time he does not lack the drawbacks inherent in any pistol. The shooting from the Makarov pistol has a small accuracy and efficiency of the bullet. In addition, a significant disadvantage of the PM in comparison with more advanced pistols is the small capacity of the store plus the relatively large weight of the weapon.

The pistol works as an automatic with a free shutter. Due to the presence of a special tooth in the design, there is the possibility of self-cocking. The gun is almost entirely made of steel. After removing the PM from the fuse, the shot can be carried out with a preliminary cocking, and self-cocking. On the sides of the store there are windows that allow you to control the fullness of cartridges.

Correct aiming from the Makarov pistol

Practical shooting from the pistol provides for several stages. The whole start is conventionally divided into several points:

  1. It is necessary to aim at the dominant eye, ie. Those with which the contour of the target is better and clearer.
  2. When aiming, the fly and the rear sight should be on the same line. The fly should be placed centrally between the edges of the slit of the head.
  3. Aim. It is necessary to look at the target and the fly, at the same time the target should be slightly blurred. Much attention is paid to the fly at this moment, it helps to determine the position of the weapon to the target.
  4. The place of hit on the target. It has three points of hit: you can aim directly at the center, under the bull's eye, just below the bull's eye. Shooting from an air gun assumes the direction of the fly approximately to the middle of the white part of the target.
  5. Concentration. For this, before the shooting you should make sure that the front sight is installed exactly in the slot of the head; Be calm, because of the stress you can strongly pull the trigger or squeeze the weapon, the shiver will begin and the goal will be lost.

After the listed items, the shooting begins from the pistol. It includes:

  1. The weapon in the hand. The middle and ring fingers, little finger should clasp the outer and front parts of the handle. The index should be located outside the trigger guard. Such a method of holding the gun gives the maximum number of levers that is necessary to reduce the fluctuation in the recoil.
  2. Position during the shooting. We must stand upright, kick our feet into the ground and point the gun at the target.
  3. Aim.
  4. Push the trigger and fire a shot. Do this confidently, without sudden movements. Press only on the front of the trigger. First, resistance will be felt.

These steps only show how to shoot a pistol. In more detail, of course, tell coaches and mentors directly in the classroom.

Why practical shooting?

One of the main differences from other sports disciplines is uniqueness and free style. Also practical pistol shooting gives benefit in improving overall health, strength and agility, and also develops stress resistance, concentration and self-control. In addition, it is difficult to overestimate the skill of safe handling with weapons.
