Potassium salt - fertilizers, donated by nature

Potassium salt is the raw material for the production of fertilizers. For this, natural materials are used: sylvite, carnallite, cainite, shenite and a number of others. They are extracted from deposits in the form of beds or lenses, lake sediments. Potassium salt belongs to the mineral resources of a non-metallic group, it and its compounds have a wide range of applications in different industries. In general, fertilizers are made from them, in addition, they are used in the production of detergents, chemical reagents, glass, in medicine, for leather tanning, in the processing of silver and gold ores. Regardless of what kind of potassium salt it is, its formula contains the element that formed the basis for its name. Despite the universal use of this raw material, its main purpose is the production of mineral fertilizers.

In agriculture, potassium salt sylvinite is often used. From it, fertilizers are made by mechanical grinding. Silvinit is a compound of potassium and sodium chloride. It looks like big crystals of bluish, white or pinkish color. It has a low hygroscopicity, so fertilizer is easily introduced into the ground and does not cake. Because of the large amount of sodium in it, it is better to use it for crops that are resistant to it: beets, carrots. Cainite is also considered a good raw material for fertilizers. Because of the high content of chlorine in it, it is mainly used for plowing in the fall of the earth, intended for crops resistant to this element.

Another common fertilizer is potassium chloride, the price for it is negligible, but the effect of its use is appreciated by many agricultural producers. This material is in the form of white granules or crystalline salt. Due to the high concentration of nutrients easily assimilated by plants, this is the most popular fertilizer in agriculture. It is obtained as a result of processing sylvinite, using the dissolution and crystallization method or by flotation. This substance is also characterized by low hygroscopicity. Its use for a number of crops is limited to a high content of chlorine. In general, it is used in the form of feeding for buckwheat, potato and cruciferous crops.

There is the same fertilizer - potassium salt. Outwardly it looks like crystals of orange-brown or pink-gray color. This type of fertilizer is produced by combining ground sylvinite and potassium chloride. Because of the high concentration of chemicals, this feed is used only when plowing in the fall.

Kalimagnezia is made of shenite. Outwardly it looks like whitish crystals. Kalimag is produced by grinding langbeinite ore. This fertilizer is very similar to the previous one. The main difference is the low content of magnesium and potassium. Due to the absence of chlorine, these two fertilizers can be used to grow sensitive crops to this element.

Potassium sulphate is considered the main type of spring-summer feeding. It is produced as a crystalline white powder, which can be completely dissolved in water. Thanks to the latest fact, it can be used as a drip feed in irrigation systems. On the effectiveness of this fertilizer, you can give one of their first places.
