We see in the example of the United States that the best people in the modern world are not those who produce goods most of all. Of course, from time to time this "strange" situation changes for the worse because of the crisis, but on the whole, it is not the production of a material product in modern society that provides an excellent standard of living for the country. Ruin, as Bulgakov said, is in the minds. And live in a post-industrial society better those who receive more and produce useful information.

We used the term, but what exactly does it mean? Western sources formulate it this way. Post-industrial society is such a structure of society in which information, services and high technologies become the main factors of prosperity, and the production of goods proper becomes less important. Not all modern economies can be referred to the category under discussion, but there is a tendency to disseminate such ideas, and it is quite influential.

Why the occurrence of such a situation became possible? The key factor is not services, as they write in Russian-language textbooks, but technology. The invention of effective production methods made it possible to make goods unusually cheap. As a result, basic human needs are met for a small price. And a lot of money remains for spiritual development, searching for interesting information, personal growth. While basic needs are not satisfied, a person does not have to search for unusual information. And if a person is full and protected, then other needs come into play - in respect and self-realization. This sphere is very vulnerable, and therefore requires a large amount of work both from the side of the person and from the provider of services and technologies. In short, the science fiction writers were afraid that people will have nothing to do when the cars take on a lot of things. Well, it turned out that there is enough work in our world.

What else is characterized by a post - industrial society? The signs include the transition of the economy from the production of goods to the production of services, knowledge becomes a form of capital, the generation of ideas becomes a driving factor of the economy, a decrease in the importance of physical labor with increasing importance of the work of very educated people, increasing the importance of the sciences of behavior and information, Priority research.

The main thing that distinguishes a postindustrial society is a kind of cult of creativity, that is, the ethics of labor is replaced by the ethic of creativity, an active person who is capable of creating information and art objects. This is the only exception to the general rule that the non-material is more important.

In fact, a post-industrial society is possible because there is globalization, and work is given to employees who can pay less than their own. For example, it is advantageous to transfer production to China. By the way, antiglobalists struggle not only and not so much for the uniqueness of individual cultures, but for the fact that not the most intelligent representatives of developed nations can get a job without having to study for a long time. And now there is a tendency for simple operations to trust the same Chinese, or Koreans. And Western people with low intelligence do not want to learn. So they protest against globalization. This is only one of the points of view, but it is quite logical.

Important for a new type of society is no longer the quantity, but the quality of the product. And more variety. In general, the needs are limitless. A person always needs "novelties", and modern manufacturers try not to lag behind requests. As we see, in the countries of the former Union there are also signs of a post-industrial society. Perhaps this is for the better, because in such a society, human capital becomes more important . And this means that the needs of each person will be treated more respectfully.
