"Golden Mask" is a festival of all-Russian significance. It began its history in 1993. The founder was the Union of theatrical figures of the Russian Federation. The award is considered professional and is awarded for the best staging of the season. The festival prize includes all genres of theatrical art. Nominated can be such kinds: puppet theater, ballet, opera, drama, operetta-musical. Recently, the experiment "Experiment" has been practiced. Any genre can receive such an award, but the main requirement is innovation.

The festival starts every spring in the capital. In Moscow, the best theatrical works from different cities of the Federation are presented according to the results of the last season. Participants of the project can only be performances from domestic theaters. Applications for foreign performances are accepted only in case of their cooperation with Russian companies. The main advantage - the performances are open to the general public, because the work is traveling around the country.

The troupe showed the "Motherland" based on the story of Chingiz Aitmatov. The director of the work is Sergey Zemlyansky. Already earlier this creation was seen by the Moscow, Byelorussian, Baltic and St. Petersburg public. This is a completely new trend in art. The actors silently played all the scenes. They talked to the audience with gestures, emotions, dances and allegories. It was very eloquent.

The festival "Golden Mask" -2014 continued with the play "The House of Bernard Alba". This is the creation of the Spanish playwright Federico García Lorca. The performance was played by the Yaroslavl Volkov Theater. The drama and tragedy of this story was projected in a new way by the director Eugene Marcelli. Residents of Pskov applauded standing.

But Yekaterinburg, Omsk and Perm deserve high praise. Unfortunately, Pskov appeared on the list not so often. The only time he was nominated in 2001. The Puppet Theater was represented at the competition. Nevertheless, city residents, actors and even the organizers of the festival place high hopes on the beautiful and hard-working theaters of Pskov.

Judges of the project

Determine who will participate in the struggle for the prize - is the work of expert councils, consisting of the most famous theatrical critics. There are two such committees. Their task is to form a list of applicants for the nomination. Choose the winner of two authoritative juries. These are theatrical figures. It is worth noting that the Golden Mask is an honest festival, therefore the judges of the council and the jury are different people. The winners are determined by secret ballot and announced in the final.

In addition to traditional awards, there are dozens of non-standard awards, which are designed to stimulate the growth of the prestige of theatrical art among modern Russians.

The main prize is not monetary. The best receive a diploma that asserts their victory. They also give the main symbol of the festival - a mask.

If the main elements of the program are performances, then another important link, without which the event would not have passed, is the organizers. "Golden Mask" is a festival that lives with the support of the Union of Theater Workers of the Russian Federation. The Ministry of Culture also helps a lot. The Moscow government, which always welcomes this event, plays no less role in setting up the work.

But the foundation is the management. Georgiy Georgievich Taratorkin was appointed the head and president. He is a recognized People's Artist of Russia, a Soviet and Russian actor of theater and cinema, who since 1996 is the secretary of the Union of Russian Theater Workers.
