Thanks to the democratic price and high quality, this car immediately won first place in terms of sales among other models of Porsche and maintained this status until 2003, when the crossover Porsche Cayenne appeared.

The name Boxter combined two words: boxer (as the Germans call the opposite engine) and a roadster (a well-known type of body), but without a hint of fighting character here could not do.
