Perspective cucumber "Herman"

Cucumbers are lianate annual plants belonging to the family of pumpkin. The origin is Indian, so they are light, moisture and thermophilic. At present, breeders and amateurs are brought out many varieties and hybrids, differing in many parameters.

Cucumber "Herman" is a Dutch breeding hybrid, which is in high demand among customers. Its fruits are very tasty, have a cylindrical shape, a rich emerald color with a slight white coating, a dense consistency without voids, large tubercles on the skin. Bitterness in them is completely absent. Can be used fresh and canned cucumber "Herman".

Their description from the point of view of the farmer or summer resident: high-yielding, early-ripening, parthenocarpic (no pollinators are required), forming in the node 5, less often 6 fruits. Fruit-bearing begins on the 40th day. Plants develop powerful, resistant to many diseases.

Cucumber "Herman" can be grown in seedlings and seedlings. In the second case, the timing of sowing depends on the warming of the soil. As a rule, the necessary soil temperature for germination of seeds is established by the end of May. Too deep to seed the seeds in the soil does not follow, 1.5 cm is enough.

To determine the date of seed sowing for seedlings, it is necessary to take approximately 25 days from the estimated time of planting in the greenhouse (open ground). Treated seeds do not need to be dressed, and it is advisable to hold the untreated half an hour in a solution of "Phytosporin", prepared according to the instructions.

In the sowing tank, make drainage holes and half fill them with disinfected soils (purchased for seedlings or cooked independently) and spill with water. It is desirable to grow each plant immediately in a separate pot, in order less to injure the roots during transplantation. Seeds of cucumbers "Herman" deepen by 1 cm, cover with a transparent film or glass. Place the crops in a warm light room.

Seed germination occurs quickly, approximately on day 4. In a couple of days, you will need to lower the temperature to 18 ° C, so that the seedling does not stretch. With the growth of plants in the container should be added to the same soil as the soil, deepening the young plants along the cotyledons. With this reception, additional roots develop. Sprinkling seedlings should be reasonable, stagnant water is unacceptable.

By the time of landing in the greenhouse (open ground), beds should be prepared, well-fertilized. By this time the cucumber "Herman" will have 4 real leaves and, possibly, the first antennae. It is desirable to grow it in the vertical version: the leaves and fruits will not touch the soil, they will be better illuminated by the sun's rays, harvesting is more pleasant and easier.

Care for cucumbers is a regular watering, and under the root, but so that the water does not fall on the stems. Soil is better to cover up, since loosening is not desirable because of the superficial root system of plants. Any shifts in the soil will damage the suction hairs of the roots, which can not be restored, and the growth of new ones takes time. Weeds should not be pulled out with roots either, it is best to periodically cut them at the soil level.

To water necessarily with warm water (cold roots are not absorbed, moreover, plant growth is suspended). Additional fertilizers are required both organic and mineral complex. Shaping and nipping is not required. To always have a decent harvest, plant the cucumber "Herman". Those who have already tested this hybrid respond only positively and refuse to refuse it.
