She is pleased to wear both men and women, the headgear is convenient for both old people and children.

Lovers of personality in style, as a rule, are not satisfied with store products and set a task to sew a cap with their own hands. The cap pattern in this time-consuming process is an element that few people dare to manufacture with their own hands. Especially when it comes to male headdress.

Options

Cap is a universal headdress - it is suitable for any gender and age. Some variants, known as unisex, are suitable for both men and women. Other styles, on the contrary, emphasize the gender belonging of the owner. If you want, you can pick up any version of the cap, considering the merits and demerits of various models - sports, day off, everyday, for wearing in the summer, in winter or in the off-season.

Patterns of Men's Caps

Unlike the options for women, instructions for making men's caps are not particularly generously presented in special magazines and on the Internet. The needlewomen know that there is no occupation more pleasant and at the same time more responsible than sewing clothes for the beloved man. Many people ask about how to make a hat for your husband with your own hands. Pattern - this is what the craftsmen first need.

The article gives the necessary recommendations to seamstresses, who took up the difficult task of making a male headdress. We will try to answer the question: "How to sew a cap?" Patterns of the most popular styles are also presented to the attention of the readers.

How to sew a man's six-piece cap?

A cap is a headdress that both men and women like to wear. Its distinctive feature is the presence of a high crown and a crown. The cap can cover both from frost and from the scorching sun. It is known that it is made of a variety of materials: natural or artificial leather, wool, cotton, corduroy, tweed, synthetic fabrics, and also fur. The six-cylinder is one of the most common variants of this male headdress.

What will it take to sew?

For work use:

  • Non-woven fabric;
  • Sewing machine;
  • 0.5 m of the main fabric;
  • 0.5 m of fabric for lining;
  • Thread in the tone of the fabric.

We build a pattern: the beginning

First you need to build a pattern for the cap. For this, three measurements are taken: the girth of the head, the width of the forehead and the length of the head from the back of the head to the forehead. The lower part of the wedge represents a segment equal to 1/6 of the head circumference. Measure the middle of the segment, after which a perpendicular line is drawn, the length of which is 1/2 distance from the occiput to the forehead. Further, a smooth line is drawn along three points, the upper angle being 60 °.

We cut out the visor

To construct a pattern for the visor, a segment should be drawn, along the length equal to the width of the forehead. Two smooth lines are drawn, the resulting detail will resemble a crescent moon. To construct a pattern of the bar (band), draw a rectangle equal in length to the head circumference, and the width can be made arbitrarily, but not less than 2 cm.

Next, the paper pattern is laid out on the underside of the fabric and wound around with a pointed remnant or tailor's crayon. It is necessary to leave allowances for seams - 1 cm. One part of the band, two details of the visor and six wedges should be found.

If you plan to sew the cap from the fabric into the cage, the pattern should be positioned so that the cells on the wedges match. Of the nonwoven and lining fabrics similar parts are cut out.

We sew

Then proceed to sewing. Using a heated iron from the underside of the parts created from the main fabric, adhere the fleece. This is necessary in order for the product to maintain its shape well. Further on the sewing machine the wedges of the bottom are sewn. On the front side a finishing line is laid. In the absence of necessary skills, the wedges must first be swept away, after which they can be sewn on a typewriter.

Then, the parts of the lining are grinded. If a warm cap is sewn, which is intended for wearing on cool days, the details of its lining should be quilted with a sintepon.

To stiffen the visor, you should use an insert of non-woven or dense cardboard of appropriate size and shape. All the details are squashed together, they are cut and twisted to the front. On the edge of the visor should be laid decorative stitch.

Then a visor and band are sewn to the waistcoat, equal in length to the girth of the head. The lining is sewn by hand using a hidden seam. From the inside, the ears are sewn to the band. These are small tissue rectangles that will be easy to hide in warm weather. In bad weather they can cover their ears.

We sew a cap with a visor from five wedges

This pattern of a cap with a peak is designed for a head circumference of 51 cm. The size increases or decreases by widening or narrowing the wedges. To do this, the difference should be spread over all five available seams. For example, to make a cap for a girth in 51 cm increase to 54 cm, it is necessary to add 3 mm on each side of each wedge:

3 cm (difference in size): 5 (number of wedges): 2 (number of sides of each wedge) = 3 mm.

After the pattern of a cap appears on a paper, the masters recommend to make sure of the accuracy of its size. To do this, you need to measure the length of the bottom of the wedge and multiply it by 5. The total length should be equal to the girth of the head. Although 5 wedges are planned, their number can be changed, for example, increased to 6. In this case, the necessary changes must be made to the pattern of the cap.

For sewing, 0.3 m of fabric with a width of 1.5 m is used. In addition, a visor sealant or a doublerin (non-woven fabric) is required. In order to create a good shape of the product, it is necessary to use a tough fabric (jeans, corduroy, etc.) for sewing. You can also duplicate it, that is, glue it with adhesive material.

Sequence of tailoring the cap with your own hands

Pattern (visor and wedge) lay out on the fabric. We cut out all the details on the layout: 5 wedges, 2 visors + band. The length of the pattern should be 53 cm, width - 4 cm (width of the finished cap - 2 cm). On the allowances will go 1.5 cm of fabric. Next, you should sew wedges, and you must clearly combine the marking lines. The allowances are cut to 7 mm. Then the details are ironed. After that, the slices are overtaken or covered with braid, which will require a little more than allowances. The connecting seams are detached from the front.

Then they cover the visor details. At the same time, they are folded face-to-face and stitched out external sections. The allowances are cut to 0.2-0.4 cm. Then the visor is removed and ironed. As a seal, a cardboard or plastic blank is inserted. The visor is subtracted with a decorative stitch at a distance from the edge of 1-1.5 cm.

Further on, the line of the middle is marked on the tunic and visor. The visor is sewn with the lower part of the crown, and it is necessary to combine the marks. The band is sewn into a ring and pruned to the thulia in its lower cut. Accordingly, the visor is also attached. Seam allowances are cut to the line and pressed to the side of the ridge. He should be half turned inside out. The inner half is turned away and is indicated by the seam of the stitching. The band is dispensed with the bottom of the cap or separately.

Cap-vosmiklinka (pattern for men): choose the classics

A cap for eight wedges (eight-wick) is one of the most common variants of men's hats. Cap-octagonal (a pattern is presented later in the article) with pleasure is worn by men of different ages. This version represents the very classics in which the young guy looks great and the gray-haired old man.

Favorably, the shape emphasizes the color and texture of the material from which the garment is sewn. Eight-wallets are made of genuine leather or leatherette, made of drape or fine natural wool. Caps of monochrome, non-marble strict shades or, conversely, with a bright and expressive color, will perfectly fit into any wardrobe. They are sewn on a twill or silk lining, with the use of insulating pads made of sintepon (winter version). To protect the ears and the back of the neck, this eight-piece cap can be equipped with a special visor, which in good weather is put inside, and in the rain or wind is released outside.

This style of cap is considered extremely successful. Thanks to the special form of the dress, it perfectly fits on the head, does not move and does not fall. The eight-piece will be modern and stylish, regardless of the vagaries of fashion.

How to sew an eight-piece?

To make a man's eight-piece cap, according to experienced seamstresses, is not more difficult than other models. To do this, use the main fabric - a length of about half a meter in length, the same piece of lining, threads that match the color, and fleece.

First, the measurement is taken (the diameter of the head, the distance from the forehead to the nape, and the width of the forehead) are measured. Then a pattern is made. The width of the wedges at the bottom should be 1/8 of the total head circumference. On this segment, we should note a point in the middle, through which to draw a line perpendicular to the first. Its length should be equal to half the distance from the occiput to the forehead. Then all points are connected. The angle of the vertex of the triangle should be equal to 60 °.

After that, cut out the visor. For this measure a segment equal to the width of the forehead, and smooth semicircles, similar to a month, connect its points. Next, you should build a band (base). Its length is equal to the girth of the head, the height should be at least 2-3 cm. From the wrong side of the fabric, attaching a template, outline the elements of the headdress, and then cut out. Do not forget to leave 0.5 cm on the seams on both sides of the parts. The number of parts that should be obtained: wedges - 8 pcs., Crescents for a visor - 2 pcs., Plank-band - 1 pc.

Then make copies of parts from lining fabric and non-woven fabric. A hot iron is combined with the main material. Then take the elements of the cap and do the fitting. If everything turned out as it should, you can sew details in a nail. To create a good form of visor, you must put a piece of cardboard into it. In the end, the lining is sewn.
