Paronite sheet: dimensions, weight, application and technical data

Paronite sheet is an asbestos or asbestos-free material, made from:

  • Synthetic rubbers;

Specifications

Paronite leaf is well punchable. It is used in industry, and its density can vary from 1.5 to 1.8 g / cm 3 , however this value may be higher or lower. If the material is stored for a long time, it is not deformed, is not affected by fungi and bacteria, which makes it possible to use it in temperate and tropical climates.

The material is able to maintain properties at temperatures ranging from -50 to +490 ° C. Quality is indicated by elasticity, because when bending the material is not covered with cracks and does not break.

Varieties of the paronite and the field of their use

Paronite sheet is manufactured to state standards 481-80 and is a general-purpose material. It is used to compact stationary parts that are in working in environments, among them it should be noted:

  • Gaseous ammonia;
  • Saline solutions;
  • Liquid oxygen ;
  • Oil products.

For today, there are known varieties of paronite, which can be used under the most stringent conditions. For example, PON-A is used as a joint sealant, which forms the basis of equipment functioning in aqueous solutions of salts, in boiling liquid and steam.

With the help of PON-B, the equipment elements and pipelines are sealed, which are operated in dry, inert and neutral gases, as well as boiling water. Paronite is able to withstand the effects of mineral oils quite persistently.

Additional subspecies

There is another type of paronite - PMB, which is designed for laying between the elements of industrial units, compressors, between internal combustion parts. This version is also used to seal the joints. It is distinguished by the stability of its properties under conditions of exposure to media with a high content of oxygen and nitrogen. This kind of paronite will not lose its technical characteristics under the influence of different kinds of petroleum products.

To isolate the connections and parts of equipment that works in sea water, a version of PMB-1 is made. It is also used to seal the elements of internal combustion engines. Paronite sheet is produced in acid-resistant and electrolyser versions, which are used for operation in alkalis and corrosive acids.

Dimensions and weight of paronite

The weight of leaf paronite may vary depending on the variety. For example, if the thickness of the MON is 0.4 mm, and the dimensions are 1x1 m, then the weight is equivalent to 0.8 kg. With an increase in dimensions to 1.5x3 m, the weight will be 3.6 kg, the thickness of the sheet remains the same.

With an increase in thickness to 1.5 mm, the weight of 1 m 2 will rise to 3.3 kg. If the dimensions are 1.5x1.7 m, the weight of the sheet will be 8.4 kg. The largest sheet, the parameters of which are 1.5x3 m, with a thickness of 1.5 mm, will weigh 14.9 kg. This type of paronite is produced in the largest thickness, equal to 6 mm, in this case a square meter will weigh 12.5 kg, whereas if the dimensions are increased to 1.5x3 m, then the weave will weigh 56.3 kg.

On sale you can find a paronite sheet 2 mm under the marking PMB. If the dimensions of a sheet of this variety are 1x1 m, then the canvas weighs 4.5 kg. With an increase in size to 1.5x3 m, weight will increase to 20.3 kg. Paronite sheet 3 mm with the same marking will weigh 7.5 kg if the sheet size is 1 m 2 . With the increase in dimensions to 1.5x1.5 m, the weight increases to 16.9 kg.

Production technology

In the manufacture of general purpose paronite, high-quality natural rubber is used. Some producers, with a shortage of this raw material, can use synthetic rubber, its price, like quality, is slightly lower. Properties of paronite are attached to asbestos fibers.

If the material is ultimately to be used in difficult conditions, long-fiber chrysotile asbestos of high quality, which belongs to group 3 or 4, should be used in the production process. This is true if in the end it is necessary to obtain a certain parameter, the main of which is the breaking load . The working temperature of this material is +350 ° C.

When the material is intended to be used in harsh conditions and at lower temperatures, and its working environment is +150 ° C, chrysotile asbestos belonging to group 5 or 6 is used in production.

Paronite sheet, the dimensions of which were mentioned above, can have different technical characteristics, which are affected by the amount of natural rubber used in production. Certain technical parameters are possible to impart a paronite, if you use special additives in the right proportions.

Paronite leaf, the photo of which is presented in the article, is the most common and universal cushioning material. The limit of its fluidity is 320 MPa. Once this level is reached, the material begins to flow, all leaks and connections are filled and sealed. To increase the effective sealing, the thickness should be less, but it should be sufficient to fill the unevenness of the joint and grooves. If a thicker gasket is used, the probability of its extrusion increases, which can cause the connection to become depressurized.

An additional feature of the paronite is also the fact that it can be easily processed and opened. From it, you can cut gaskets of arbitrarily complex configuration. They can be used in different climatic zones, where the ambient temperature does not drop below -60 ° C. The material is not corrosive, and its density varies from 1.8 to 2 g / cm 3 depending on the thickness.
