Origami "tulip" - spring mood all year round

Origami - the oldest Japanese art of paper-plastic, familiar to us from childhood. Even a younger schoolboy, each of us with pleasure folded from the paper frogs, airplanes, ships, that's only then we did not know that this hobby is such a beautiful name - origami. Tulip - a model more difficult, but who did not give it to the spring holiday mom? Carefully, diligently folding the colored leaves along the fold lines, we knew that this would be one of the most expensive gifts for the native man himself, because he was made by himself.

Today we invite you to plunge into childhood and remember the origami scheme of the "tulip".

  1. Fold the square sheet of paper twice diagonally and once in half. From the folds obtained, "pack" the corners in the pockets so that the base model of the triangle is obtained.
  2. Unbend the corners to the top on both sides of the triangle to make a diamond.
  3. Turn the model over so that the edges of the diamond look down. Fold the right corner, just going in the middle, and insert the left one into it. Repeat the same on the other side.
  4. "Blow" the bud through the hole from below and bend the corners of the flower.

Another way to create a flower is to assemble it from the modules. Modular origami "tulip" requires a longer time, because it requires the manufacture of 105 basic triangular modules. Basic triangular modules are composed of rectangular sheets of paper, the ratio of which is 2 to 1, according to the simple scheme given below.

Having made necessary quantity of base elements, we will start assembling our tulip.

  1. Connect the two modules using the third one, as shown in the diagram. In this case, the left modules form the first row, and on the right - the second row of the flower. When the number of modules in the rows reaches four, you must begin assembling the third row.
  2. Close the modules in a circle (in each row there must be 15 pieces) and, carefully holding it, turn it out so that the short ends of the modules look outward.
  3. Complete the model with 2 more rows of 15 modules.
  4. The bud is almost ready, it remains to form petals. To do this, you need to put on the modules, gradually reducing them: 4-3-2-1. Repeat the assembly of the next petal, skipping 2 corners of the bud.

Modular origami "tulip". Production scheme

To make the stalk, we use the usual cocktail straw. Lubricate it with glue and wrap it around a piece of green paper. To make a sheet, use a sheet of paper with sides of 15 cm.

  1. Fold the edges from the corner to the middle, having done this from two opposite sides.
  2. Repeat the folds again.
  3. Carefully smooth out the fold lines and flip the workpiece, using a pencil, give it the desired curved appearance - the sheet is ready. It remains only to glue it to our stalk.

Insert the stem into the flower, pre-thicken it with a piece of paper pasted on the tip, so that it does not fall out of the flower.

Our flower is ready!

You can make several such tulips and put them in a vase. And then the spring mood will not leave you all year round!
