Biography. The beginning of the way

In Macedonia, in Skopje, on August 26, 1910, an Agnes girl was born in an Albanian family. Her father Nicola and mother Dranfilé were Catholics. Deeply devout, they regularly visited the church, devoted much time to prayers and charity.

Father Agnes died under obscure circumstances in 1919. Mother stayed with three children in her arms. Accustomed to the provision of an orphaned family at first had to be difficult. But Dranfil did not despair. She began to earn sewing and embroidery for food, and not only had a comfortable life with children, but also continued to help the poor.

Agnia Gonja Boyagi was a pretty, obedient and smart girl. She helped my mother, sang in a church choir, composed poems. But from the age of 12 she knew that she wanted to devote her life to God. At age 17, she asked for the blessing of her mother to become a nun. Dranfil experienced a real shock. She realized that she would never see Agnes again, and with all her heart she did not want this separation. However, after a night spent in meditation and prayer, she nevertheless went to meet her daughter and blessed her for holy things.

September 26, 1928 in a way through the Indian Ocean to Calcutta in the monastic order of Loretto went no longer Agnes, and Mother Teresa. A brief biography is not capable of capturing all the tremendous power of her deeds, her inexhaustible mercy and unconditional faith in Jesus.

Service

Having reached the cloister of the Order of Loreto, Sister Teresa became a teacher. She taught children lessons in history and natural history, was engaged with the laggards, prayed a lot. She sang in a church choir, earned respect and honor, took up the post of director of one of the schools. This went on for 16 years. And then the nun obtained Rome's approval to become a free missionary and on August 16, 1948, left the order.

She knew nothing of anything, she easily coped with duties, was happy with life and suddenly decided to give up everything. Why did Mother Teresa do this? A brief biography of her testifies that only to the dictates of the soul listened to a nun who wished to dedicate her life to God - "King of the whole world".

Who is Mother Theresa

This is a nun who, following the dictates of her heart, abandoned the comforts and peace of life in the community, instead bought a cheap white sari and stepped into the slums of Calcutta.

Then she was awaited by a nightmare - stinking, filthy streets, hungry beggars, rotting bodies, hopelessness of dying, thrown out children and other horrors thrown out on the street. The first impression left the nun in shock, she fled with tears into her abode and turned her gaze to God. Mother Teresa's prayer was simple. She asked the Almighty to do what He intended her to do. God answered a heartfelt, sincere appeal. The nun's heart was filled with determination, courage and a burning love for all the destitute and forgotten. In them, she saw Christ, literally fulfilling the covenants of the Bible.

Returning to the street, the missionary began to help the poor. She obtained from the local authorities a large house, which used to be a stable, cleared it to shine and began to bring dying people from the streets. Drug addicts, cancer patients and AIDS, lepers - all received care, shelter and food in their last days. The babies thrown into the garbage boxes and the old people who were of no use to the people also found a home here.

Mother Teresa got up at 4 am, cooked food for hundreds of people in need, washed, washed, cleaned. All this hard and monotonous work she did with a smile and boundless patience. Soon, inspired by her example, other nuns joined the missionary. The assistants also saw their calling in the service of the poorest of the poor in the name of Christ.

Who is Mother Theresa? "I am a pencil in the hands of the Lord," she answered this question.
