Openwork Christmas napkins crochet: schemes, description, recommendations

"Prepare a sleigh from the summer ..." says the popular saying, and in the language of knitters it means "think about the New Year decor in August". As a rule, in winter, on the eve of the holiday, there are quite a lot of urgent matters: buying gifts, planning vacations, knitting warm sweaters and hats. There is no time to engage in lovely decorative trifles.

However, in the summer, when you do not want to load your mind and hands with heavy projects, it's time to tie the New Year's napkins with a crochet. Schemes and recommendations regarding the technology of their manufacture are proposed in this article.

Kinds of New Year's napkins

The first association that occurs when it comes to celebrating Christmas and New Year, is a specific symbolism: snowflakes, snowmen, Santa Claus. Under the influence of Western culture, we increasingly use the characteristic colors that symbolize the Christmas tree, snow and Santa Claus costume: a combination of green, white and red.

All these features should be taken into account by those who plan to knit New Year's napkins crochet. Schemes can be used ready-made or compiled independently, based on what is available.

Based on the appearance, shape and complexity of products, they can be divided into:

1. Simple rectangular napkins.
2. Openwork products made in a distinctive color scheme.
3. Napkins with a complex configuration (images of gnomes, trees, deer and gift socks).

The last category can only be experienced by skilled craftsmen, and this article is intended for beginners, therefore, the New Year napkins crochet (schemes with descriptions are attached) of the first two types will be considered next.

Rectangular napkin

This kind of decor is extremely simple in execution. To make it, you will need green yarn and narrow white and red satin ribbons. The thickness of the yarn and its composition do not matter.

Such New Year napkins crochet (schemes for them are not required) begin to knit from the chain of air loops (VP). Its length (this will be the width of the napkin) is calculated by measuring the control sample.

As an example, take 80 VP. Further knitting is performed according to the following algorithm:

• 3 VP lift, 3 columns with a crochet (CCH), * 2VP, 4SNN * (repeat 11 times), 2VP, 3SSN.
• The second and subsequent rows are done according to the drawing.
• The work is stopped when the napkin takes a square shape.
• All four sides need to tie in the RLS, then with a step.

Tapes of different colors should be threaded into the holes of the canvas. Bows are made separately and fastened with a glue gun or sewn.

If desired, the craftsman can also tie the napkin holder (strip of fabric sewn from the end) and round or square coasters.

Round New Year's crochet crochet: snowflake patterns

To get festive coasters or larger products with themed colors, it's enough to distribute colors correctly when knitting an ordinary round napkin.

In the photo above, the order of combination of red, green and white colors is clearly visible. Thanks to this distribution almost any scheme will be suitable for knitting New Year's decor. For example, a snowflake in the bottom row of the following figure.

The flower formed by the first row should be made with a red thread. The next row is green, then five rows of white yarn and the last one is again green.

Extremely popular are napkins, bound in the form of snowflakes. It is a universal winter symbol that will suit even the most ardent opponents of Western influence on culture. Such products can be laid on the table, attached to the gifts, as well as suspended to the ceiling or to the Christmas tree.

Hanging Decoration

Snowflake - this is probably the most interesting product that allows you to embody crochet hooks. Schemes and description (Christmas napkins, Christmas toys, decor for windows simply knit) do not differ in complexity. Here, the most important thing is to observe the high density of the product, otherwise the weak loops will be noticeable and spoil the entire appearance.

If you plan to hang a snowflake on a fishing line or a string, it should be stiff and ideally flat. To achieve this effect, it is laid out on a flat surface, stripped off with an iron and impregnated with a solution of starch, sugar or PVA glue. The dried product perfectly performs its functions for a long time.
