How to make a sword out of paper in marching conditions, using newspapers or wrapping paper

The beautiful summer season is approaching - the time of country seasons, rest in villages or in nature, trips on vacation. And even if for adults this period brings great joy and a lot of new impressions, then what to say about children!

With what delight the kids run barefoot along the sandy paths, waving a toy sword! And these loud cries of victory over the defeated enemy? After all, in the countryside or in nature, you do not need to restrain yourself, looking back at the neighbors living behind the thin wall.

But what if the sword broke off while resting at a small samurai, and even worse - did her mother simply forget to put it in her luggage? There's nothing left but to make a sword. You can choose the twigs as the material, you can make weapons from trimming a plastic pipe of small diameter, or you can cut out a blade from the cardboard and glue it with foil. Some even make a swift sword from a piece of board using a regular saw and wrap the handle with a sticky tape.

However, when playing with such weapons, very often, children experience very different injuries. And, as you know, being in nature, adults do not always manage to be close to their offspring. Therefore, it is worthwhile to think about another material, safer for children, from which to try and build weapons.

Particularly creative parents share their ability to make a sword from paper. And let this sound rather strange, but it is so! Ordinary newspapers can serve as an excellent source material for this toy. You can use simple sheets for printing on an A4 printer. But then, unfortunately, the sword will turn out to be quite small, just not even a sword, but a dagger. By the way, if you are lucky enough to get hold of a wrapper or a postal paper, then it's even better, because making a sword will make it more dense and strong.

Several layers of paper should be stacked. The best thing is a product from sheets of the same format. But if the material is chosen in different sizes, it will be better if you trim it with a sharp knife or razor. In case the adjustment is not possible, try to fold the paper with an even edge at least from one corner - from another, uneven, it is necessary to make a handle.

If you use newspapers, then they need at least 6 pieces. How to make a sword from paper? Not so difficult, but still, in addition to paper, the master still needs a little patience, foil or paper of silver color and tape or tape.

Paper stacked in a flat pile and begin to fold it from the corner. To make this process faster, and the layers are smooth, you can use an even strip of cardboard, the width of which will be equal to the width of the blade of the future sword. The cardboard should be placed in such a way that it does not protrude from under the newspaper sheets.

When the entire pile turns into one strip, with adhesive tape from the very edge - the point and in the middle of the blade - you should wrap the resulting part for fastening. If necessary, you can do this several times in different places.

Since to make a sword with your own hands you really want extremely similar to the real one, that is, with a blinking metal shine blade, you can camouflage the blade. For this, a foil or silver paper should be pasted onto a folded newspaper strip. One edge of the resulting part should be left without gluing - about 12 centimeters for the handle.

Of course, if the sword is made away from civilization, then you can do without gluing: the imagination of the child is boundless! For him, the fact is already important that adults are engaged in something unusual, and precisely for the sake of him, a little man, it was more interesting and fun. And how to make a sword from a paper - whether it is pasted or not - it does not even reflect at that moment.

So, having folded a strip of newspapers with dimensions of 15 cm X 1 cm in this way, we also fix it with a ribbon. This will be the boundary between the blade and the handle. Having arranged this small strip at a distance of 12 cm from the not pasted edge perpendicular to the blade, we also fix it with a tape.

Now you can wrap the hilt of the sword with an insulating tape for beauty. All! The sword for the little samurai is ready for battle.
