Simple but original flowers - corrugated cardboard crafts

Crafts from corrugated cardboard are interesting in that they are three-dimensional. This is a super 3D format among the made of paper products! Sometimes the colors of the bought cardboard "prompt" which of them you can make a craft.

From bright and contrasting colors, a picture in the technique of collage is good - an abstract composition made from large details pasted on a large sheet. Crafts made of paper and cardboard, which are collected and combined from materials of different colors and textures, can be considered for hours. If the colors are not very bright, close to natural, then the landscape will turn out well. But crafts made of corrugated cardboard do not only flat, but also volume. Often are flowers in the quilling technique.

The idea is simple. Corrugated cardboard is cut into narrow strips (1-2 cm wide), which are then twisted in the form of a spiral, giving the resulting details a different shape. Then they are collected in a single composition and bonded together with glue.

For the production of flowers you can use cardboard of sunny-yellow, sky-blue, bright red and lilac flowers. The deep black material can be used to decorate a plastic cup with a sea or river pebble, where you can put the future bouquet, your crafts from corrugated cardboard. The sheet must be cut along the short side so that the corrugated strips are obtained with a cross pattern. It is convenient to use cardboard of the same format, then the strips will be the same length.

For a red flower, you need to take six bands of red cardboard and one strip of yellow. The work is simple, even for a child of five or six. It is necessary to roll six red petals, giving them a drop shape and gluing the edge of the strip so that the petal does not turn.

If you want your creations from corrugated cardboard to look original, you need to cut out a sheet of the same color a cap of the same shape and glue it on the spiral of the petal from above. To do this, you can use PVA glue or glue gun. From the yellow strip you need to close the circle for the middle. Then the red petals should be glued round to the yellow disc. Now you can leave the red flower to dry.

Similarly, you can make heads of other colors. For the stems, green cardboard is needed, and the strip for it needs to be cut along the long side of the sheet so that the corrugated pattern is longitudinal. If there is no green, then we can take, say, yellow and paint it with a soft green pastel or even a wax crayon. Only the convex parts will color, the concave will remain yellow. You can get an interesting color effect, and your creations from corrugated cardboard will acquire a unique individuality. For leaves, as for petals, cardboard can be cut off from the short side of the sheet, not with longitudinal, but with a cross pattern, but they can also be combined.

Flowers from corrugated cardboard with a larger fold (packaging) can be created in a different way. First, cut out the bottom large flower. Then smaller and quite small. After they are laid one on top of the other so that the corrugated folds are arranged differently. If they are longitudinal on the lower flower, then on the upper one they must be transverse. As a center, you can use a bead or any other decorative element (for example, a nail with a decorative bonnet) of a suitable color and size.
