Museum of New Russia in St. Petersburg: review, history and interesting facts

The Museum of Novorossia in St. Petersburg was inaugurated on the eve of Victory Day in 2015. This event was timed to coincide with the seventieth anniversary of the Great Victory of the peoples of the Soviet Union in the most terrible and bloody war (1941-1945). The museum has become a unique national-patriotic art platform, which in the world there are no analogues.

Organizers

The director and founder of the museum was Herman Vladimirov - a native of St. Petersburg. His idea found a response in the hearts of friends and comrades-in-arms, militia volunteers and people not indifferent to the tragedy of the people of Donbass. Thanks to their efforts, a unique exposition was collected, which now numbers more than a thousand exhibits.

Overview of the Museum of New Russia in St. Petersburg

This unique venue occupies a very modest basement. Museum of Novorossia in St. Petersburg, whose address is at. Decembrists, 57, has an exhibition hall, which is divided into several parts. Its most significant section is the stele of memory, where a lot of things belonged to people who are no longer alive: they died in the Donbas, defending the peace and freedom of civilians from the Ukrainian security forces - Alexander Bednov, Pavel Dremov, Alexey Mozgovoy, Arsen Pavlov, Eugene Ponomarev and many others.

The Stela of Glory

This is another sector that is of interest to visitors. Here are documents and things of militiamen who participated in bloody battles and remained alive. They transferred the front relics to the museum of Novorossia in St. Petersburg.

Exhibits of the museum

Here you can see money bills of Novorossia, which, however, was not destined to become an active regional currency. In the museum you can see the outer clothing of British journalist Graham Phillips, in which he was subjected to shelling of the Ukrainian military.

In the corner of the main hall is the original of the icon, which is very dear to all residents of the war-scorched earth - the Virgin Mary of Donetsk icon painter Maria Zharkova. She was forced to move from his native town of Snezhnoye to the northern capital. The list of this icon, which was written in 2015, is now in Donetsk.

Trophy departments

They include the "Hurricane" of Ukrainian siloviki, helmets-helmets, personal belongings of the fighters of the APU, chevrons and shoulder straps of the Dudayev battalion and even the flag of the IGIL. German Vladimirov believes that this is the corner of the so-called European values that can come to every house, if the Donbass is broken. True, he is sure that this will never happen, because his defenders are forged from steel.

The Museum of Novorossia in St. Petersburg has many interesting exhibits. For example, the license plate on which "Banderarovets" is inscribed, and on its back side one can see the autonomy of one of the countries of Europe. He was brought from Donbass, telling an interesting story about his owner. Lived in recent years in Europe, a former citizen of Ukraine became a punisher of the Karpaty battalion.

On the crossover with the memorable number "Banderovets" he tried to break through to the airport of Donetsk. SOBR militiamen, seeing the car, gave two volleys, ordering the driver to stop. He did not react to the demands, and the defenders of Donbass had to shoot on the wheels, after which the desperate driver opened fire on the SOBRovtsam. It was liquidated.

Coming after this to the car, the special forces found a huge number of ammunition, which a guest from Europe intended to deliver to the airport. The Museum of Novorossia (St. Petersburg), whose review does not take much time, was recently enlarged with a stand for the memory of servicemen who died in Syria, as well as the wall of the victims of the TU-154 airliner crash.

Plans of the organizers

Does the Museum of Novorossia in St. Petersburg have features? Yes, in the plans of the founders of the museum - a significant expansion of the military exposition and not only in Novorossia, but also in Abkhazia and Syria, Yugoslavia and South Ossetia, Chechnya, etc. Since the current premises have a very modest area (70 square meters) Even relics from Novorossia do not fit. For this reason, many of them are stored in the back rooms. Today, there can be no talk about a detailed exposition, which would be devoted to the heroism of heroes who distinguished themselves in other wars.

People who created the museum of Novorossia in St. Petersburg, dream of uniting veterans of all wars. For filling the exposition and further expansion of the museum, agreements were reached on preferential renting of premises in the Vasileostrovsky district of the city on the Neva. Despite the fact that the agreement has already been signed, the date of its entry into force has not yet been established. This is due to events, which we will talk about later.

In any case, no matter how the situation develops, the museum of Novorossia in St. Petersburg, more precisely, the main part of its exposition, will remain in its original place, as the leaders say. This decision is due to several reasons: the address of the museum is well known to Petersburgers and guests of the beautiful city, the overhaul of this basement room cost almost two million rubles, which are personal funds of Herman Vladimirov, so it is inappropriate to leave it now. In addition, the museum of Novorossia in St. Petersburg has relics that can not be transported to another place, for example, a column with autographs and inscriptions of legendary militiamen and commanders, many of whom are no longer alive.

Closing of the museum

Until recently, many people wanted to visit the museum of Novorossia in St. Petersburg. Here people came as whole families, talked with eyewitnesses of events in the Donbass. That is why, for many, it was a surprise to hear that in St. Petersburg on January 28, 2017, the museum of Novorossia was closed, as the leaders claimed, temporarily.

Law enforcement officers seized computer equipment, telephones and electronic media, dismantled the entrance sign, and the door was sealed and sealed. A criminal case was opened against one of the volunteers.

Reason for closing

The reason for the assault was a fight between the volunteer of the museum, which came out of it late in the evening, and three young people. During the fight, the volunteer fired into the air from the weapon (registered). The fight was provoked by the attackers. When the volunteer had a walkie-talkie, one of the attackers, hearing it, began to threaten and threaten the soon burning of the museum.

The verbal skirmish quickly developed into a fight. Help arrived in both sides of the conflict, but the attackers were in the majority, so the museum staff had to retreat into the building and barricade. The attackers on this did not calm down and started knocking out doors, shouting out threats. It is noteworthy that they informed the police that there are armed people in the museum's premises.

Arriving law enforcement officers began to demand that the door be opened immediately, but those who stayed inside had no way of making sure that the claim comes from police officers. For self-defense, the guard shot at the door. Armed police officers took the premises by storm.

Preconditions of what happened

According to the founder of the museum, Vladimirov, on the eve of May Day, the Molotov cocktail was thrown at the museum. Yes, and stormed it not for the first time: in the early autumn of 2016, FSB officers sawed out the iron door, without waiting for the director's arrival, seized the laptop, phones, hard drives, disks with films. It is noteworthy that as a result, there were no complaints about the activities of the museum.

And to date, inspectors have not been able to detect anything illegal in the activities of the museum. Therefore, everything that happened on the night of January 28 is very much like a planned provocation.

The future of the museum

The fate of the museum until recently remained in question. After its closure, Herman Vladimirov continued to look for a new room for his offspring. He was confident that the situation would be resolved in the near future. Today all the exhibits that could be taken out were transferred to a safe place.

The leaders do not rule out that the museum will begin its work under a new name, for example, the Museum of Military Valor. Many townspeople, famous politicians, representatives of culture believe that the museum of Novorossia should continue its work in St. Petersburg and not only in it.

And at this time in the Donbass many are asking themselves how important and significant these events are for Russia. In modern complex life, it seems to many that a quieter time will come, and then it will be possible to collect all the documents, archives, remember all those who died and suffered. But this is most likely a delusion, because it is necessary to collect and store evidence of this tragedy of Donbass just now, when explosions continue on this land, as a result of which innocent children, helpless old people, are killed.

And this is necessary not only for the inhabitants of this long-suffering land, but for all citizens of Russia. To remember the terrible consequences of this tragedy and to prevent anything like this in our country.

But justice triumphed: the museum received a new, more convenient and spacious room on the Fontanka. Today, there are the last preparations for the opening, which is scheduled for May 9, 2017. Contrary to the opponents of the museum, it is not only revived, but also significantly updated.
