Most popular skate parks in Moscow

For several years, Moscow has been considered the world's skate capital, as there are many modern and well-equipped areas for practicing this sport in the city. You can visit one of more than 20 open and covered skate parks, not to mention the venues, equipped with enthusiasts in secluded courtyards throughout the capital. But if only such initiates are aware of such secret places, their coordinates are transferred from hand to hand, then large skate parks in Moscow are already known all over the world.

The largest - open, there are held various festivals and mass events. Plus such parks - free and often round the clock access. Minus - they are afraid of bad weather, if it rains, the pad will be closed until all the surfaces dry out, as driving on wet surfaces can be dangerous.

So, below are the addresses of skate parks in Moscow, located on open areas.

"The Lunar Odyssey" in Ostankino

It is impossible not to start listing the skate parks of the capital from this place. "Moon Odyssey" is the largest such complex not only in Russia, but also throughout Europe. This skate park is located in Moscow at VDNH, where it occupies an area of 1 hectare. For skateboarders, four bowls are installed here, in which beginners and professionals can ride. There are special areas for children and even for skaters with disabilities.

There are also disadvantages. According to the professionals, the coating is not very high-quality, the paint in some places already departs, and the concrete crumbles, and the radii of some figures are made uncomfortable and, possibly, even dangerous, but the park still attracts a lot of athletes.

Look for the complex to the left of the main entrance, not far from the rest of the sports grounds. Opening hours are from 10 am to 10 pm.

Address: VDNH, park "Ostankino", 1 st Ostankino street.

Skate Plaza on Krasnaya Presnya

It is worth noting that the name "Skate Plaza" is unofficial, given to the park by skaters themselves. It is located in the heart of Moscow, but despite this not too crowded, so newcomers should visit it.

The park was designed by the Germans (IOU Ramps), who created the best skate parks in Moscow. And although there is no skate pool, that is, bowls with radius walls, there is where to turn around, because this is the only two-level park with different figures: faces, steps, bumps. Skaters appreciate this place and for the opportunity just to sweep along the nearby embankment, where, like in the park, it is often crowded.

It is open from 9 to 22 hours daily.

Address: park "Krasnaya Presnya", st. Mantulinskaya, 5.

DC Shoes Navipark in the park "Sokolniki"

To go, look for a large skate complex area of two thousand square meters to the left of the main entrance, the landmark - "Garden of astronauts." The beauty of the park is that one half of it is under the open sky (with concrete figures), and the second one is under the roof (with pylons from plywood), which allows you to ride in any weather and with any level of skill. The awning above plywood constructions provides also safety: there is no risk of slipping on a wet covering.

The park was designed by the same German company IOU Ramps, which means that all the shapes and radii are safe for freestyle and other styles of skiing.

The site is open already from 8 am to 11 pm, admission is free.

Address: Sokolniki Park, Sokolniki Val, 1a.

Park in Novo-Peredelkino

One can not ignore the legend of the national skate movement. If you ask where in Moscow there is a skate park, most without hesitation, will answer that in the suburbs of Moscow, in Novo-Peredelkino. This is another skate park in the open air, it is located opposite the building of the Russian ski school and ski resort.

This park is already 7 years old, it is one of the first built in Moscow, and it was as if the first one had its own cup with radius walls. The park is constantly being updated, a new mini-ramp was installed here a couple of years ago.

Address: Novo-Peredelkino, ul. New Orlovsky.

Ride Town in Kolomenskoye

This platform is considered the best in Russia according to the unofficial rating of skaters themselves. The park opened only a couple of years ago, but immediately attracted the attention not only of Russian athletes, but also of the pro-riders (as the professional skaters and snowboarders call themselves) from Europe and the States.

The place is very popular, which means that the traffic is high, but it is always possible, if not to go for a ride, then to see how the best Moscow riders ride.

Address: Andropov Avenue, 39.

Lianozovo Park

The park was designed and built by the Russian company FK Ramps, which has proven itself in this field. They built other skate parks in Moscow, so there is no need to worry about the quality of the equipment.

For a park with an area of 800 m2, a place in the north of Moscow was chosen not accidentally: here the famous snowboarders were born Teymurov brothers. But the park attracts skaters not only this, but also a unique project, repeating the natural relief.

Address: Lianozovsky Park, st. Uglich, 13.

Vans in Gorky Park

This area is very popular with skaters and the administration strongly supports its popularity: by the new season all plywood has been replaced with a new one, all ramps and figures have been repaired and waiting for guests.

The park is notable for the presence of a multi-level ramp, which is the widest of all, which have skate parks in Moscow. All obstacles and figures are safe and suitable for both beginners and pro riders. The park was built by the same IOU Ramps, so here you can meet their firm figures - waffle soles and a pad in checkers.

The entrance to the skate park is free, it is open 24 hours a day. On certain days, there is a free skate school for children.

Skate Park Luzhniki

When this spot (that is, a playground for skating) was just opened, it was located under a bridge on Vorobyovy Gory. This gave him the advantage - you could ride in the rain. Later, in connection with the conduct of major sporting events, the cult spot was moved to the Avenue of Glory in Luzhniki, and at the same time painted and repaired. It is worth noting that the site enjoys constant popularity among metropolitan riders and freestyle lovers, that is, a free riding style. The site is located to the right of the main entrance to the "Luzhniki".

Address: Sports Complex "Luzhniki", st. Luzhniki Stadium, 24.

Open skate parks in Moscow are developing more and more, gathering serious traffic of riders and many spectators. However, what to do when it rains, not to mention the cold, because the weather, suitable for skiing in the air, in Russia is only a few months a year.

The way out is covered skate parks in Moscow. The problem is that unlike the open ones there are not so many and most have a very small area. Another problem is that such parks are usually designed not only for skaters, but also for roller skaters (guys on roller skates), fans of BMX (those who ride special bikes with a small wheel diameter), etc.

Many excellent indoor skate parks in Moscow have already been closed, largely because of financial problems. It is quite difficult to find a large room of several hundred square meters and equip it with everything necessary. Renting, lighting of such a site is a lot, and the entrance more than 300 rubles automatically reduces interest in the park among amateurs.

Despite this, there are a couple of places in the city, large enough and well equipped, where you should go not only in bad weather.

Sababa

This is an indoor skate park, operating year-round. There is a mini ramp, where children are taught to ride on weekends. On weekdays, you can come free on Tuesdays and Thursdays, on the remaining days you will have to pay 300 rubles for entrance. Organized and naytrayydy (night festival or competition of professionals and amateurs of high level). Naytrayd can be collected and independently, for the whole night buying out the site.

Address: st. Boating, 2.

"Glad"

One of the most interesting and large-scale indoor parks in Moscow. There is everything you need for interesting skating - rails, facades, ramps. The park is only one and a half years old, but it has become popular for just a few days.

Attracts athletes and the fact that in the afternoon only skaters are allowed here, as well as the presence of such commonplace amenities as a full-fledged bathroom. Plus is the location of the park in the heart of Moscow. The entrance costs 300 rubles.

Address: Tank passage, 4, building 42.

Skate Park on Semenovskaya

Closed skate parks in Moscow are represented by a rather large covered area built with the support of Moscomsport. It is equipped with all necessary figures, but does not use skaters in particular. And for that there are a number of reasons.

Firstly, its main purpose is skate school for children, adult riders are allowed only a couple of days a week. Secondly, even to get here on the days allowed, you need to provide a medical certificate that allows you to engage in extreme sports. It is also necessary to have a helmet with you. The cost of entry is 350 rubles.

There is another way to get here - to join a skateboard club operating at the school, but this still does not get rid of the need to obtain a medical permit.

Address: st. Ibragimova, 30.

This is not all operating skate parks of the capital, however the most popular are listed. But domestic riders do not cease to hope that good quality sites, especially indoor ones, will become more and more.
