Tikhaya Pine River: description, rest, photo

Russia is famous for the whole world with its water resources. And it's not just the seas. On the territory of the state there are many lakes, rivers, reservoirs, ponds. They have different origins: some were formed naturally, others - artificial. Not the last place is occupied by the Tikhaya Pine River. The Voronezh Region and the Belgorod Region are the regions through which it flows. This watercourse is the right tributary of the River Don. The source is in the Belgorod region (Pokrovka village), the mouth - in Voronezh. Refers to the basin of the Azov Sea.

Characteristic

Silent Pine is a river that originates on the slopes of the Central Russian Upland, in the southeastern part of it. Administratively, this region belongs to the Belgorod Region (Volokonovsky District). It begins near the village of Pokrovka and looks like a small stream. In the area of Krasnogvardeisk it is already beginning to expand and become like a full-fledged river. Further, the Quiet Pine continues its way through the Ostrogozhsky District (Voronezh Region) until it reaches the Don. The mouth is in the Liskinsky district, 2 km from the Divnogorye farm.

The Tikhaya Pine River throughout its length feeds on water from springs, streams and water flows into it. The main ones are the Pine, Olshanka, Usterets, and Kamyshenka rivers. Also it is worth noting that it replenishes its waters and due to the melting of snows.

The approximate length of the Silent Pine is 161 km, and the area - 4350 sq. Km. Km. In winter until the middle of March it is covered with ice. Opens in early spring, high water lasts until April.

The Tikhaya Pine River is remarkable not only for fishing and beach rest, but also for the fact that near the coastal city of Alekseyevka there are deposits of silicon, which, according to the archaeologists, belong to the Paleolithic era.

Hydronym

Many residents of coastal settlements are interested in the origin of the name of the Tikhaya Pine River. To date, there have been no official sources. Some believe that in the past (several centuries ago) many pines grew on the banks of the river, which subsequently dried or were cut down. This assumption about the origin of the second part of the name. And about the first there is another belief. It is believed that the definition of a "quiet" flow received from what has a calm flow.

According to legend, at first this pond was simply called Sosna, because the banks were filled with these trees, and later, when the coniferous forests disappeared, an epithet describing the nature of the river was added to the name.

But there is another version of the origin of the name. Because of the calm nature of the current, residents of the coastal settlements called the river "quiet from a dream" (otherwise "quiet as after a dream"). Subsequently, the words merged, and it turned out such an interesting name.

Coastline

The Tikhaya Pine River throughout the entire coastline is well developed, especially in the valley. Its right bank is low, and the left bank is high. Often there are ravines, as well as deposits of Cretaceous rocks. In some places there are small hills. Soils on the coast near Voronezh and Belgorod are mainly black earth.

Many areas on the banks of the Pacific Pine are used in agriculture. And in some parts of coastal zones, oak forests and broad-leaved forests grow. In addition to them, wild fruit trees grow, such as apples and pears. And in the lower reaches, at the foot of the river, there are forest-steppes.

Fishing

The Tikhaya Pine River, a photo of which can be seen in the article, is popular among lovers of fishing. Most often the catch here is perch, roach, roach, pike, bream, beluga and others. The fact that there were many fish in this river a few centuries ago is known from the surviving sources, in which it was written that the residents of the Voronezh Region were engaged in fishing for sturgeon, the beluga.

But in Soviet times it was known about the incredible catch on this river. That's how Quiet Pine came into the Guinness Book of Records. Caught sturgeon was a giant size: weighed more than a ton (1227 kg). On this the luck of the fishermen did not end, in giant fish there was caviar, the weight of which was almost 250 kg. This catch was produced in 1924.

Fishermen who come to these places to fish, should know that currently living in the waters of the river beluga is under protection and listed in the Red Book.

Recreation

The Silent Pine River is also interesting for those people who prefer to spend time outdoors near a pond. On the coast you can often see cars resting. They stop here with tents. The most suitable time for rest is April, May and June. Bathing is not recommended because of shallow places and chipped rocks. Visitors can stop not only in tent camps, but also on recreation centers. Also on the river bank a sanatorium was built.

Divnogorie

As mentioned above, the river Tikhaya Pine (the place of confluence with the Don) flows not far from the Divnogorye farm. This area is represented by incredibly beautiful landscapes. In 1991, the same name reserve was opened in the region, which is a historical and archaeological museum. Its main attractions are the cave church and a complex of monuments Mayatskoe settlement.

Divnogore is also popular as a place for family holidays. The tourists who come here acquire a number of undeniable advantages: they can stay overnight with tents, take a run along the shore and sunbathe, sit at the fire in the evenings, and prepare shish kebabs on the grill.

Come to these places to rest! Each will receive a lot of impressions and fully enjoy the fresh air and picturesque nature.
