Monument to Yesenin in Ryazan: description

Many of us from childhood remember the lines from his poems. The real son of his land - this definition comes to him without any reservations. And he, of course, deserved that his memory be immortalized. Therefore it is not surprising that an unusual monument to Yesenin appeared in Ryazan.

History of installation of the monument

Ten years - it's been so long to finish the work on it. The monument was created by the efforts of the famous Soviet sculptor, People's Artist of the USSR, laureate of the Lenin and State Prize, honorary citizen of Ryazan A. P. Kibalnikov and architect R. Begunets. Its installation was timed to the significant date - the 80th anniversary of the birth of the great poet. This event occurred on October 2, 1975.

At the solemn event there were connoisseurs and lovers of Esenin poetry, creative people and ordinary workers. There were also close relatives of the poet.

Description of the monument

The place where the sculpture (Trube embankment, the Ryazan Kremlin is located nearby ) is chosen prudently: from here open the Oka open spaces, sincerely sung by the poet in poems.

The material from which the monument to Sergei Esenin in Ryazan is made is bronze. It is decorated with gray-green granite. Its height is 4.5 meters. This almost twelve-ton sculpture is installed on a solid foundation. To produce it, it took more than two hundred cubes of concrete. When making the pedestal, we used a very rare material - polished green granite (amazonite) mined in the Pamirs.

For the execution of Yesenin's monument in Ryazan, an unconventional horizontal form was chosen. When you look at this unusual composition, it seems that the figure of Yesenin literally grows from his native land. With a spiritualized face, he recites poetry. Thanks to the wide gesture of hands, the unbuttoned collar of the shirt, one can feel the subtlety of the human soul, who by means of his works managed to convey to the descendants the charm of the surrounding nature, the beauty of words.

An integral part of the monument to Yesenin in Ryazan is a monolithic stone, which lies behind a monument in the shadow of white birches. On it is carved a sung by a poet flying crane. The townspeople call it the "stone of lovers" and are always ready to share a lot of romantic stories and take it up.

In the background of this composition a special deepening is made, where the trees that the poet loved so much are bobbing from a light breeze: birch, mountain ash and maple.

On Yesenin's arms, which are eight meters wide, people like to host photo shoots, townspeople and guests of Ryazan, the heights for which they have to climb for this, they are not afraid. They say that the poet himself asked not to install a sculpture in this city. Nevertheless, the monument to Yesenin in Ryazan perfectly fit into the composition of the embankment, and exactly one year later the author of this unusual composition, Alexander Pavlovich Kibalnikov, was awarded the RSFSR State Prize named after Ilya Repin for this work.

There is also another composition dedicated to the poet in the city. The place of its installation is the city square along Lenin Street. Opposite is Gorpark and the regional philharmonic society. The date of the opening of the bust S. Yesenin - October 1, 1995. This event was timed to the centenary of his birth. The bust was moved from Esenin's homeland-the village of Konstantinovo.

Strict suit and tie - such clothes were chosen by the authors of the work. Apparently, it was in this way that the poet appeared before contemporaries and fans during speeches.
