Missing the ignition. How to find the reason?

Your car is lost in power, the engine is running with interruptions, and you can hardly enter the lift only in the second gear? In this case, you may suspect misfiring. And in the presence of an on-board computer, you can detect a "P" error. In this case, the numbers next to the letter will indicate which cylinder contains the misfiring: 0301 - in the first, 0302 - in the second, 0303 - in the third, 0304 - in the fourth. What is the problem?

The misfire is a phenomenon occurring in the engine, when one cylinder accelerates more slowly than the others, thus violating the process of the working cycle. As a result, exhaust deteriorates, fuel consumption increases, the car "jerks", and does not go.

In this case, there are two ways: to visit the car service, where qualified experts will solve your problem, or try on their own to eliminate the misfiring. The causes of the problem can be very different. In this article we will consider only the most common:

1. Due to poor fuel quality, jets are jammed. In this case, it is only necessary to replace the filling station or switch to high-octave gasoline. But it is worthwhile to know that a poor mixture can arise due to some breakdowns of the pressure regulator, fuel pump or because of a clogged filter.

2. Perhaps you have broken the candles - with a large or a little gap. Also they may just be of poor quality.

3. High-voltage wires with mechanical damage or with high resistance can also cause misfiring.

4. Ignition coils or module that is out of order.

5. Low or uneven compression may result in an insufficient level of compression of the working mixture.

6. The ignition misfire may also occur due to improper adjustment of the timing joints.

7. Leakage of hydraulic compensators.

8. Malfunction of any cylinder that may occur, for example, due to the reduction of the clearance between the cylinder of the internal combustion engine and the piston.

How to find the reason?

To some extent, the task is simplified if your car is equipped with "electronic brains". In this case, you can use autotesters, which can immediately show the error codes (misfiring occurring in the first or third cylinder, for example). In addition, the autotester can detect and direct the search for the root cause. For example, code 0300 means misfiring that occurs in all cylinders. In this case, the reason is most likely a poor working mixture. And this means that the reasons can be as follows: low pressure due to a poor pump or too high air suction.

If you do not have an electronic assistant, then you can find the cause by old grandfather methods, time-tested. Start with electrical equipment under the hood: candles, high-voltage wires, the state of the gasoline pump, the measurement of compression in the cylinders. At the final stage, if the misfiring is not eliminated, proceed to inspect the engine. Remove the cylinder head cover and diagnose the condition of the valve guides and rings.
