Cushions came to us in ancient times from the countries of Asia, where they were the main element of the interior. Slavs quickly appreciated the simplicity in the manufacture, mobility and comfort created by pillows, and very soon enjoyed the comfort and beauty of their own products, affectionately calling them "dumas" and "dumples." A creative person can not pass by such a unique opportunity to express oneself and not make a unique and necessary thing in the household of a thing. After all, sofa cushions can be round, square, oval, platen, in the form of a heart, toys, with applique, braid, embroidery, from scraps, knitted ... Yes, do you enumerate everything ?!

Enough talk, it's time to get to work. Let's see if we are all ready to make a square cushion on the sofa:

- two types of fabric for packing and a beautiful cover (not necessarily buying, you can take what you have, the remains of curtains, for example);

- filler (cotton wool, feather, foam rubber, sintepon, old things, cut into shreds, plastic bags) ;

- sewing machine (or thread, needle);

- iron;

- a thimble, needles, threads, scissors, pins, chalk, ruler.

Let's start

1. We measure and we will cut out from a basic fabric a rectangle 52х52 centimeters and two bottom details 52х30. Pay attention to the location of the picture on your cut. Let the most beautiful part of it be in the center of the square.

2. Now sweep and stitch the side seams of each part.

3. Let's bake the preforms.

4. On the main part, lay the lateral parts overlapping (face sides inside).

5. Sweep along the perimeter and mend. Turn out the cover on the front side.

6. "Nasypku" sew or from a rectangle 100x50 (fold in half and make three seams around the perimeter, leaving space for the filler tab), or from two squares of fabric 50x50cm. Three sides sew fully, but the last one is not sewn, before we fill it with contents. Old nylon pantyhose, for example.

7. Put it into our beautiful case: the cushion cushion is ready!

When everything is so easy and beautifully obtained, new "feats" will not take long to wait. Moreover, sofa cushions can be different in form, and I want to do something unusual. Now we will master the rarely found in modern houses, but an absolutely simple form of "dumka" - in the form of a platen, such a "candy". For what we will need:

- cloth for a cover;

- foam or stocking with a filler;

- two cords or tapes;

- sewing machine (thread, needle);

- iron;

- a thimble, needles, threads, scissors, pins, chalk, ruler.

1. Fold a roller with a length of 50 cm, diameter - 16. Let's push the filler into the old stocking so that we get the same roller 50x16.

2. The detail for the cover will be cut by the size 53x88 cm. Let's fold the fabric rectangle in half with the face side inward and stitch the side sections. We loosen the allowances on the seams and turn out the workpiece. Double the open edges and gently stitch them.

3. We put the roller in the cover. Decorative cord tighten the edges tightly to the roller and admire the product: no one does not!
