Bachata is a dance born in the 60s when dictator Rafael Molina ruled in the Dominican Republic. The attitude changed only in the 80's, when melancholic rhythms began to interest musicians. The real development of the dance was due to Luis Diaz, who released his music album with these motifs. Since then, bachatu has ceased to be classified as an outcast, and it has become popular not only in Latin America, but throughout the world.

Styles

Traditional - the most romantic and common of all styles. A distinctive feature is the movement of the hip for every fourth count of the musical clock. Also for the traditional style is characterized by close contact of partners and a lot of twists and bends.

Dominican - is considered the original, from which the other styles occurred. Here you will not find any superfluous movements of the upper body, but the footwork (foot-wear) is actively used.

Bachata in the Art Nouveau style is the most modern of all. Here the distinguishing feature is the use of elements taken from other dances. Such a Bachata is primarily a variety of different slides and complex movements and leg ligaments.

Urban - one of the subspecies of the previous style. The direction is developing so quickly that it constantly adds various dance pieces from hip-hop.

Bachatango. Thanks to the very close contact of his partners, he is considered to be the most sensual style. It is characterized not only by the movements of the legs, but also by pauses, which are accentuated by attention, graceful turns and magnificent bends.

As you can see, bachata is not just a set of movements for melancholic music, but a dance direction that has its rapidly developing subspecies.

What you need for classes

To begin with, you need a partner, as this is a pair dance. Often classes are visited by spouses or lovers. Performing bachata, partners are practically not separated, perform smooth and soft movements with hips, while touching each other. That is why the presence of a companion is simply necessary.

For classes you will need comfortable training clothes. It is advisable, if the woman has a non-stretch skirt of midi length. If you put on a tight-fitting, the movements will not be free, but bound. For the top is preferable top or tank top.

As for shoes, it is quite suitable for sandals on a comfortable low heel. The main thing is that it should be stable. A great option will be ballroom shoes. For men, shoes with a foot comfortable for the foot fit.
