Why does not the VAZ-2109 start?

Surely every car owner was faced with a problem when his car did not start. VAZ 2109 is a foreign car - it does not matter. Symptoms are the same for everyone. In today's article we will consider why the VAZ 2109 (carburetor and injector including) is not started and how to eliminate this problem.

Battery

The first thing you should pay attention to is the battery. Especially if the car was in the garage or in the parking lot for more than a week. The battery has the property of losing its charge. Especially often motorists face this in the winter. Overnight, the battery can lose up to 30 percent of its total charge. The solution is to charge the battery. However, there are situations when you need to go right now. There is a way out of the situation. To do this, you need to turn on the headlights of the car for a while (1-2 minutes). In this way, we activate the electrolyte in the battery, thereby increasing the voltage level. When the electrolyte comes into action, the battery warms up and accordingly the current is added. What if the VAZ 21099 injector does not start (does not the starter rotate)? This is possible even with a charged battery. And the reason for this are the terminals on it. The presence of oxidation and plaque contributes to poor contact, as a result, the VAZ 2109 (injector 8 valves) is not started. Ignition

But what if, even with a charged battery, the VAZ 2109 will not start? The problem is to look for in the ignition system. The first thing you should pay attention to is a trambler and its wires. Candles

After taking off the armored tube (do it very carefully, so as not to damage the connectors), use the candle key to remove the elements outwards. If they have traces of a raid, are filled in with gasoline or simply dirty - a problem in them. When supplying a large amount of fuel with a minimum volume of air, the element is not able to ignite the mixture. As a result, the VAZ 2109 (carburetor) is not started - the starter rotates, there is a spark. Check the electrode clearances - they should not exceed 0.8 millimeters. Also dry the elements and clean with a dry cloth from dirt.

What if there is no key?

In the absence of a candle key, you can dry the parts in a different way. For this purpose the car is put on "neutral", the ignition is switched on. Next, heat the gas pedal to the floor and turn the starter for 5 seconds. Thus, a large amount of air gets into the combustion chamber - the candle is successfully dried. It is important to remember that with this operation, the amount of oil on the walls of the cylinders decreases. Therefore, it is not necessary to abuse this way, so that the engine does not work "on dry".

Dirty filter

His clog brings to the fact that the VAZ 2109 will not start. And it does not matter whether the carburetor is a motor or an injector. Check the condition of the air filter easily. And on the carburetor and on the injector, you need to remove the housing cover (the only difference is that on the first it is iron, and on the second one - plastic). Then we take the element out and look at its state. Paper filter elements should be light. If dust and dirt are present on them, the air through them is not able to pass into the combustion chamber. Hence, it turns out that the carburettor does not start VAZ 2109: the starter rotates, there is a spark. In winter, periodically inspect its external state. Such a filter, as in the photo on the right side, can no longer be used. Yes, it will not harm the motor, however, there will be frequent interruptions in operation. As a consequence, the chamber will be filled with too poor a mixture - hence the lack of "traction", power, dips in acceleration and high fuel consumption. Replacing this part with a new one, you will immediately get rid of all these problems. By the way, the manufacturer recommends changing the air filter at least once every 10 thousand kilometers. If the car is operated in rural areas, where mostly dirt roads, this period should be divided into two. Dust and dirt are the main enemies for the filter.

Circuit breakers

Cars VAZ 2109 have a rather impractical arrangement of the fuse box - between the windshield and the engine compartment. All dirt, dust and other deposits accumulate on this block. If the lid is not sealed, after the rain the elements may get wet, which makes them "short". The most basic in our case is the safety valve of the gasoline pump. If it burned, the fuel is unable to pass from the gas tank to the camera. And no "purge" here will not save. In order not to fall into such an absurd situation, experienced drivers advise to always carry a set of new fuses.

Valve Clearances

At the carburetor "eight" and "nine" with the engine 1.3 there is no hydraulic compensator. Because of this, valve clearances should be set every 20 thousand kilometers. "Pinched" valves can not provide a normal intake and release of fuel, so the engine is malfunctioning - it is difficult to start. They are exposed by means of adjusting and locknuts.

Butter

Because of the thick oil, the motor is not able to start normally. This problem is typical for the winter period. Due to the thick oil, the compression is reduced - the motor is unable to process the mixture. In winter, thick oil drains down and when attempting to start at the top of the cylinder, it pours gasoline, which dissolves it and flushes it from the walls.

Timing phases

What to do if the VAZ 2109 injector does not start (the starter does not twist - it clicks)? It is worth paying attention to the condition of the timing belt. Perhaps it flew off the marks and the system is not able to work out the phase. Also, its breakage is possible. To admit this is highly discouraged, especially on engines with a volume of 1.3 liters. On such motors, if there is a breakage, the valve is simply bent. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor its condition and, in the presence of the smallest cracks, to make a replacement. It can fly due to poor tension on the roller. Check the stretch is very simple - if the element touches the plastic protective cover, it should be pulled.

Starter

If it does not rotate even when the battery is charged, most likely it has become unusable. To replace it you need:

  1. Remove the terminal with the terminal block on the starter relay.
  2. Unscrew and remove the terminal of the electric drive of the traction relay.
  3. Remove the engine protection bolts.

Next, the starter must be removed. To install a new element, you must follow certain rules:

  • Twist all fastening nuts alternately with a uniform force. So you reduce the risk of skewing the starter.
  • Attach the terminal to the contact bolt and install all the previously removed pads.
  • Install in-place protection of the motor.

And, of course, the main thing when replacing this element - first disconnect the battery terminal.
