Milling machine - who is this? Training for working specialties

To my great regret, such trades as a turner, a milling machine, are not currently popular with the younger generation. Modern youth have a great desire to work in the office, where they can get a decent salary for minimal effort. However, it is fixed and does not depend on the work performed. Therefore, some young people are beginning to turn to working specialties. For example, a milling machine - who it is, you can understand, if you consider the essence of this profession.

Definition

So, let's look at the profession of "milling" - who it is and why it has such a name. The name came from the German analogue Fräser, which in translation means "milling cutter" and implies grinding in the metal of various cavities. Unlike the turner, which grinds the part from above, the milling cutter makes a hole inside. This is quite a difficult task, since it is a question of metal, which often has a huge weight (for example, a one-tonne detail). To do this, you need to be able to handle a huge machine and digital control on it. So in this profession it is necessary to have not only skilful hands, but also good "working" brains.

Essence of the profession "milling machine"

It is not possible for the community to forget such a "metal" profession as a milling machine. Who is it, people understand best when they can not do without metals even with such a wide use of synthetic materials (plastics). That is why in the nineties of the twentieth century, these professions enjoyed great success and were among the "male". Working with metal turns even the most effeminate young man, who often does not know how to hold even the simplest tool in his hands, into a real man.

Disadvantages of the profession

Only thanks to the iron nerves and willpower can a good milling machine be obtained. The training of such specialists is mainly carried out in professional technical schools. It's hard enough to imagine that a milling cutter working on large machines, even in the heat, must protect its body with thick working clothes from incandescent chips, the temperature of which sometimes reaches 700 degrees! So the work of the milling machine is associated with burns, bruises and cuts.

Among the common deficiencies can be identified and the receipt of occupational diseases associated with work. However, there are often other factors in different areas of life that can affect the reception of the same diseases. Therefore, it is very important to observe basic safety techniques and try to neutralize as much as possible various negative factors.

Training for working specialties

The acquisition of experience in this profession takes place in practice in production activities. However, basic knowledge can be obtained in specialized polytechnic educational institutions (colleges or schools), which are basic. In any case, without a theoretical knowledge, it will not be possible to work in the specialty. Of particular importance are the knowledge and experience of the mentors of these colleges.

On the basis of these institutions operates its own turning workshop, in which there are machines designed to perform various operations for drilling, turning and milling of metal parts.

Students in such a workshop under the guidance of specialists are trained to fabricate metal structures and parts according to the drawings, perform certain operations of metal processing in the part of cutting, external turning of workpieces, internal boring of products, cutting into thread parts and drilling various holes.

Combining the two professions into one

There are specialists like a turner and a milling machine - who are they? These are professionals who can both grind and grind. Such specialists are very rare, so expensive.

Many details to various objects and mechanisms are created in turning shops. On specialized machines, the metal workpiece rotates at a certain speed, and the specialist gives the product some form by cutting off the excess material from it. The name of the profession "turner" is associated with his activities - he sharpens the workpiece.

Milling machine, in contrast to the turner, works already on another machine, processing workpieces with a special rotating tool - a cutter. It independently determines the sequence of work performed on the workpiece, measurements are made and the conformity of parts to the drawings is checked.

In fact, there are only a few professionals who can make any part of metal. Specialists of this profile work at industrial, assembly, utility and repair enterprises. Turning is not just a technical specialty - it's a whole art. Not every specialist from the usual rough workpiece can make a neat detail with a polished surface.

Considering the aforesaid, very often it is possible to see the corresponding vacancies, especially in the defense industry. The priority in choosing this profession is a decent salary.

Auxiliary knowledge for the milling machine

One of the basic skills that a router must possess is the ability to work with a drawing. However, experience does not come immediately. Read the production drawings learn the employees either in practice, or under the guidance of the master. The presence of such skills of a conventional milling machine translates into a grade one step higher.

As already mentioned, the machines where milling machines work can have different sizes. So, for example, they are desktop (for example, for grinding products used in dentistry) or the size of a single-storey house. As in large and small modern machines, digital control can often be found. Therefore, to work with it, the router needs to have at least elementary knowledge of electronics.

Thus, such a working specialty as a milling machine is quite modern and attractive for the younger generation.
